A PROVIDENTIAL MEETING

I had a visit today that was completely unexpected. The car came driving up to my house with 3 people in it that I had never seen before. But, I knew exactly who they were before they introduced themselves. I immediately began to pray that God would give me the words to say that would be specifically what these people needed to hear. Words of restoration, reconciliation, and healing. And not of condemnation. The man that got out of the car had the customary booklet from the organization he represented in his hands. Ready to hand it to me as soon as he was close enough to do so. Hmm, I wondered. Do they get points for each one they hand out? But, I digress. When he approached me and just before he could hand me the booklet I spoke up so suddenly that I could see it surprised him. I said “I am a Biblical Christian. Born again by the Spirit of God. So I know that you know that you and I do not serve the same God.” After gathering himself, His answer was as straight forward as my statement was. He said with a kind and knowing smile, “I certainly do know that”. 

But, when I began to share with him the why’s and wherefore’s regarding the differences between his god and mine, he was visibly shaken by what I was telling him. I knew immediately that God was speaking to him through me. Because he really had not heard, or even considered before, the things I was telling him. Even though it was quite obvious from our conversation that he had dealt with people who claimed to be born again before. And I could see that what was really troubling him was that not only was what I told him making it clear that his beliefs were much more in agreement than not with most of the other religious groups that he previously thought he had found so much disagreement within his meetings with them. But, also that it all made so much sense when seen in the light of what the Bible plainly says. 

He was seeing for the first time in his religious life the vast similarities that makeup what are the foundational aspects of all cults. And how those similarities are nowhere found in the Bible. A book he thought he had come to believe. Because in the course of our conversation it became apparent to him that evangelical protestants, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and Roman Catholics, all have the same core fundamental beliefs.  They may differ on whether hell is eternal or not. Or whether their Jesus is “the mighty God” as Isaiah says. Or just “a mighty god” as they believe Isaiah meant. Which is a huge issue, but one that when addressed from the foundational problems that are found in all of these cults is seen for what it is? Because as important as that is, it is only a symptom of a much deeper foundational problem. So that when they see that these are not part of the Biblical landscape for salvation, he would know to steer clear of these false doctrines that lead to their wrong thinking regarding the deity of Jesus. 

So beginning with these cult’s beliefs like Adam’s sin condemning all men to an eternal hell, or annihilation in his religion, resulting in the need for their Jesus’ death because it became the required payment of the penalty for the sin of Adam, we waded through some pretty heavy stuff. Giving special attention to the fact that they all mistakenly believe that this payment for sin was required by God to appease his wrath. And that unless appeased this wrath sends them to the hell that they also mistakenly believe God says all men so completely deserve. But, the true God sent Jesus to deliver mankind from the condemnation that He had nothing to do with, not to condemn him. As is so plainly stated in John3:17. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved,” I explained to him how that by believing that mankind is condemned by God he was actually in agreement, and not in opposition at all, with what he believed were false religions. Because they have actually all come to believe that from conception all men are condemned to hell by nature because God holds them accountable for the actions of another for which God is angry with them.

Even though Jesus says of children that “of such is the kingdom of God”. And Deut.1:39 says that because children have no knowledge of good and evil they inherit the promise. This means that from birth men are destined for heaven, not hell. But, these all reject this for the mistaken belief that God demands the bloody death of the innocent to appease his wrath so that those who believe this can avoid going to hell. A condemnation that their god says they all deserve. But, one that the true God says He came to deliver mankind from. I then proceeded by asking him a very simple Bible question. I asked, “When God placed Adam in the garden with Eve the Bible says they were both naked and they were not ashamed, right?” To which he answered “Yes”. So I continued by asking, “Do you remember what Adam’s reply was when God asked him why he hid from Him after he ate the fruit and knew he was naked?”

His answer came back very quickly as if he was absolutely sure that he knew it. And no wonder. He had probably read and heard that passage taught many times before so it seemed to him like it was a very simple one to answer. He told me “Adam said he hid because he was ashamed because of his sin”. To which I replied “Again we see how much agreement your organization’s doctrines have with these others? Because when I ask them they all give the same answer you just gave. But, did you know that neither you nor they get that from the Bible?” He shook his head no. I said, “Because the Bible says Adam’s answer to God for the reason he hid from Him after eating the fruit was that he was afraid. Not because he was ashamed. And in fact, there is not one single verse in the Bible that ever says Adam was ashamed at any time.”

While he was considering what he had just heard I could tell that what I had said previously was now beginning to make sense. But, he was still resistant to this new thinking as so many are that have been indoctrinated with so much false teaching. So I went on to show him how significant this seemingly insignificant revelation is. I shared with him how the Bible actually says in 1Cor.15:45-49 that all men are born completely and totally innocent just as Adam was when he was made. And that nothing in Adam changed after he ate the fruit except the new knowledge he received from eating the fruit. A change that God said made him “as one of us to know good and evil”. So I asked him “How could this be the condemnation from God that you and these others believe it is?” To which he quickly replied, “Because all men are born in sin”. So I reminded him then of how we just saw that Jesus said concerning children that “of such is the kingdom of God”. Which is proof that men are not born condemned? But, are born innocent. 

As we continued to talk I showed him that this is proof that they have not believed what the Bible says. And that what they have believed either comes from them not doing as they have been told by Paul to search the scriptures to see whether what they were told is true. Something he commended the Bereans for doing in the book of Acts. Or that they have actually been listening to the enemy of men’s souls to come to such unBiblical conclusions. And the fact that they do not know this, but are instead convinced that something the Bible never says is true, shows in whom they really have believed. And it isn’t God or His word the Bible. It is the devil who has taken them captive at his will as Paul said in 2Tim.2:25,26. 

I didn’t once bring up the fact that their belief that Jesus is not God is problematic. Because that conclusion is based on the deeper heresy I was hoping he would see. And that seeing this would change what he believes about Jesus. Because what I was speaking with him about actually dealt with issues that they have never dealt with before. Because both they and their evangelical protestant and Roman Catholic counterparts have actually found themselves on the same side of the proverbial fence by believing the message that God is angry with all men because of what one man did. This means that they believe in a Jesus that is not the Jesus of the Bible. But, they have believed in a Jesus of their own making. A false Christ that the Biblical Jesus and the apostles warned us against. Because the Jesus they have believed in is one that they all believe only came for the purpose of paying the so-called penalty for Adam’s sin through the bloody torturous death of the innocent. Because of them, this was necessary to appease their god’s wrath. But, this is not the God of the Bible. This is not the Biblical Jesus. And this is not the Biblical atonement. 

However, there is a false god that the Bible tells us that requires the bloody torture and death of the innocent that they believe their god does. It goes by the name Molech. And he is certainly not the God of the Bible. He is an ugly murderous imposter. It is a god that required the death of the most innocent of all human life, little babies. 

By sharing with him in this way I was able to show him how changing the word afraid to the word ashamed turns out not to be such a small thing even though some might think it is. Because this shows us what Jesus meant when He taught them to be faithful in the little things in Mark4:23-25. Because being unfaithful in this seemingly small thing means that they will not hear the even greater revelations that bring salvation. And because of this even what they have been given(the word planted in their hearts), is taken away and given to him who has been faithful in the little when it was given to him, just as Jesus said. So that by changing what the Bible plainly says it shows that they will not believe the gospel that Paul taught. A gospel that Paul said if rejected or perverted for another, is what really damns a man to hell in Gal.1:8,9. This shows that Paul taught that if men are damned to hell they are damned by choice. Not by nature by inheritance or imputation as these pagan religious cults have believed. 

This small illustration of Adam’s answer to God points out the fact that most people who call themselves Christians have more than likely never had a meeting with the real Jesus of the Bible. Or at the very least that it can not be seen in the words that come from their mouth as Jesus said it must be justified before God in Mt.12:33-37. Because by believing these things they have come to believe in a Jesus that is of Gnostic origin. One John called “the spirit of antichrist”. Who is either a Jesus that did not come in the same flesh all men have because the flesh is evil? Or one that was only a man and not Almighty God. But, either way, he is a Jesus that is akin to the false god Molech. Because their god has convinced them that the reason for the cross was because their Jesus was sent to pay the required penalty that was the bloody death of the innocent to appease Molech’s wrath. 

I hope this story of the providential meeting I had with the man from the watchtower bible and tract society shows you that there is so much more to being a born again Christian than simply saying a prayer. Because unless that prayer comes from a heart of 100% commitment to Jesus, the word that was planted there will surely wind up being stolen from you as it has from these who have ended up in these cults. As Jesus so eloquently said in his parable of the sower. Where He finished by telling them, “If any man has ears to hear, let him hear. Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you, that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.”
In this Jesus made it very clear that the word sown in our hearts, as was done for this man today when I spoke with him of the truths of God, must be received before one can bring forth the 30, 60, and 100 fold what was planted. Because this many-fold increase is God giving us more of Himself. Pouring more of Himself out to us as we humble ourselves before Him. It is His grace being poured out in us that He told Paul was sufficient for him to be comforted from what Paul called the “thorn in my flesh”. 

After reading this would you like to have this same pouring out for you so that you too can have the eternal life that Jesus came to provide for you? Will you be born of His Spirit so you too can inherit eternal life? The fleshly birth only prepared you for this natural world where death reigns. Will you too be born again by being born of His Spirit? So that as His child you will now have for your inheritance His kingdom that is eternal where there is no death? 

If you are reading this God is calling you. He loves you and wants you to know Him. Because knowing Him is this eternal life that provides you with the spirit that makes you God’s child.John17:3. So if you do not know Him, but have now believed that He is Lord and that He has raised from the dead to conquer death for you, then please take the time right now to talk to Him and confess to Jesus that He is Lord of your life. And believe that He has raised from the dead to conquer death for you. If you do believe in Him then tell Him something like this and you will have eternal life: Dear Jesus, I believe you. Thank you for joining with me in death so that by conquering death by your resurrection I could join with you in eternal life. Thank you that you raised from the dead so that I could raise from the dead too by trusting in, clinging to, and relying solely on you. Thank you for giving me a new spirit now Lord so that I can live with you in your kingdom forever. In Jesus’ name, amen. 

By praying a prayer similar to this one and really meaning it from your heart you have been saved from death to life. From sin to righteousness. And from the wrath to peace with God. And now as you begin reading the Bible and believing what it plainly says it will begin to change the way you think and believe. Because when you trust in Jesus you leave the old life behind where you were only able to relate to and trust in what has been made. And now will be equipped for God’s kingdom because you are no longer only natural flesh and blood, but are a new creature made a spiritual being ready to inherit God’s spiritual kingdom. It is because of Jesus’ resurrection that He is the only WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. Because only Jesus has broken through the wall of death that the flesh and blood natural body can never get through. And only by the new birth are we made ready to receive the spiritual body that can go through the wall of death as Jesus’ did first so we could follow Him in the way He has prepared for us.
