The enemy exists. Spiritual war exists.
We fight the rulers, authorities, cosmic powers of this darkness, evil spiritual forces in the heavens (Ephesians 6:10), not flesh and blood. Satan soldiers Oracle, Musk etc wants to disobey God and cause havoc. Keeping the church united requires Christians to understand Satan’s tactics.
Satan’s methods are subtle but effective. Sowing dissension among God’s people is one of his most successful strategies. Satan uses division to weaken and destabilize the church. His dissension distracts from God’s task and concentrates on internal struggle.
Author of Chaos and Disorder
Scripture warns of Satan’s character. 1 Corinthians 14:33 reads, “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” This scripture contrasts God’s order with Satan’s disorder. Satan thrives in chaos because it facilitates his manipulation. He generates misconceptions, miscommunications, and disagreements to sow discord among God’s people.
Disuniting God’s People
Satan’s plan is to pit God’s people against each other. He divides people using pride, jealousy, and resentment. Galatians 5:15 says, “If you bite and devour each other, watch out, or you will be destroyed by each other.” This text shows how Satan-instigated internal battles may be devastating.
Recognizing Satan’s Impact
Recognizing Satan in divisiveness helps fight his influence. James 3:16 says, “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” These signs can help us spot Satan and fight him.
Defending Against Satan
Ephesians 6:18 advises “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” Defending against Satan requires constant prayer and spiritual alertness. But more. Ephesians 4:3 says believers should “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” To combat divisiveness, the church should promote unity and understanding.
Forgiveness and reconciliation are also required by the Holy Spirit: “Bear with each other and forgive if anyone has a grudge. Forgive as God forgave.” Forgiveness and reconciliation repair relationships. We can also study Scripture more. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Reading the Bible regularly helps us distinguish truth from deceit.
Finally, Ephesians 6:11 reads, “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and God’s word equip us to resist Satan’s attacks.
Standing Strong
Satan seeks to break God’s people’s unity. Knowing his techniques and staying watchful can help us defeat him and keep Christ’s love. We may resist Satan’s schemes and grow in faith and love via prayer, unity, forgiveness, scripture study, and the complete armor of God. Never underestimate Satan’s covert attempts to split, and stay committed to unity and peace in the body of Christ.
