“They That Are In The Flesh Can Not Please God” Rom.8

Edward O’Hara Wed 1/29/2020 5:01 PM Is Paul telling us this so that we will know that the flesh is evil? Is this verse telling us that because the flesh is evil man must be punished with death because it makes him the enemy of God and that this is why men go to hell? Ummm…. not so much. Because first of all not only do we not see those words being used in Rom.8 or elsewhere. But, secondly when Paul tells us things like this, and things like the carnal mind is at enmity with God in Rom.8:7, he is referring to the mind that was made by God. Made to relate only to the world that he was put in that is what has been made. But, made by God nonetheless.  So it’s being at enmity with God…

The “Great Gulf Fixed” That Separates Believers From Unbelievers

WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE…  Edward O’Hara Mon 1/27/2020 3:37 PM This message, which can also be heard at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0xlrxZdmPC0&feature=youtu.be, is about a passage from Luke16 that I think most people who have heard or read the Bible will be familiar with. Here is a portion from this passage- “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” Luke16:19-31. Is it a parable? Or is it to be taken…

Choose Wisely

Edward O’Hara Fri 1/24/2020 3:26 PM Remember when Jesus said “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house”? What most people don’t realize is that even though this may be instructive to the church too, when Jesus said this He was speaking of and to Old Testament Israel. Not the church.   Jesus also said of and to Israel “this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” What end was He talking about that “this gospel of the kingdom” being preached in all the world would lead to? He was talking about the end that comes at…

More on the Difference Between Jesus’ And Paul’s Gospel

Edward O’Hara, Wed 1/22/2020 5:58 PM And she shall bring forth a son, and ye shall call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins” When you read Mt.1:21 do you see a message that is for all times for the whole world? Or only for “His people” as the verse says? The answer, of course, is that the message in this verse is only for “His people” Israel. Which I will now explain in this message. In the gospel that Jesus preached, we see that He told His people Israel that to have eternal life they must keep the commandments of Moses (Mt.19:16-21) and believe that He is the messiah (John5:24). But, Paul’s gospel says that salvation only comes by grace through faith without the works of the law(Rom.4:1-5). And that no flesh shall be justified by the works…

The Kingdom That Jesus Preached

Edward O’Hara Mon 1/20/2020 2:11 PM Luke 16:16-31 When Jesus said “The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it”, was He saying the Old Testament stopped with John the Baptist and the New Testament started with His preaching? Does this mean that the covenant that God made with Israel through Moses ended with John the Baptist?  But, is that possible? Because doesn’t Heb.9:15-10:9 show that the Old Testament continued for Israel until Christ’s death? And that it was only by the death of Christ the Old Testament ended because that’s when the New Testament came to power? If so, and the scriptures are pretty clear that it is, then what did Jesus mean with His follow up statement when He said: “Since that time the kingdom of God is preached”? The answer…

Morality- A Tool Of Satan?

Edward O’Hara Fri 1/17/2020 2:10 PM Yes, because a focus on morality can be the means by which satan keeps many who think they are Christians from a saving faith in Jesus. Because for this righteousness becomes all about someone’s works, rather than “the faith of Christ” as Paul’s gospel declares in Gal.2:16. It can be seen in what Jesus was referring to when He spoke to the tribulation church at Ephesus in Rev.2, when He said, “I know thy works, and thy labor, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them liars; And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast labored, and hast not fainted.” But, then Jesus says to them that even though they…

“This Body Of Death”

Edward O’Hara Wed 1/15/2020 9:43 AM Since the Bible says that God was in Christ not holding men’s trespasses against them (2Cor.5:19), what does it mean to be saved? Saved from what? I mean, if Paul’s doctrine shows that the paradigm that calls for a person to admit they are bad and need Jesus to make them good enough for God to accept them, that the harlot RCC and her daughter evangelical protestants teach isn’t true, then what is? Let’s appeal to Paul’s doctrine for the answer to this all-important question. In Rom.7 Paul asks the question that hits at the heart of man’s need for salvation saying, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Do you know why Paul refers to the body in this way? The answer is really quite…

Jesus Said, “What Is Born Of The Flesh Is Flesh And What Is Born Of The Spirit Is Spirit”

Edward O’Hara Sun 1/12/2020 4:19 PM This is why if men are born only once they can not inherit the kingdom of God. Because Paul, in agreement with Jesus, taught that “Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Neither does corruption inherit incorruption”. 1Cor.15:50.  Please note that Paul’s statement here says nothing of the naughty/nice paradigm, what I call “Santa Claus Christianity”, that many believe is the reason people go to hell or to heaven. The reason Paul does not refer to works as having anything to do with where we spend eternity is because it is “by grace through faith” and “not of works”(Eph.2:8-10) that God has chosen to save us. By the faith of Christ(Gal.2:16). And not by His works. Because God wants our personal relationship with Him, or with another, to be what determines where we spend…

Has The Sodomite Culture Infiltrated The True Church?

Edward O’Hara Fri 1/10/2020 3:53 PM There is a website I frequent that has been writing on the issue of how the Baptists and others are becoming more and more apostate. As I read the articles I notice that what they have concluded are the reasons for this really miss the mark. Because what they don’t get is that what has caused this, especially in the case where many churches baptist and otherwise have begun to accept homosexuality and other things that are part of what is known as the social justice movement, is the fact that these so-called “churches” were already apostate before they began accepting the sodomite culture. In one of their more recent stories, it is shown that the author has yet to touch on the basic reason for this apostasy. For in it the author makes this…

The Justice Of God

Edward O’HaraWed 1/8/2020 6:02 PM In Passover messages, I read I saw God’s justice referred to like this. “God is good and because God is good—he must punish sinners for their guilt. This is demanded by the justice of God” This is an actual quote from one of them. Well, all I have to say about that is that they did not get that from the Bible. But, from man. And if you have believed that God’s justice is you getting what you deserve as punishment for what you have done as these have, then this message is for you.  Did you know that God has a very different view from this of what justice is? Let me show you what God says about His kind of justice. He says, “Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul…
