Remember when Jesus said “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house”? What most people don’t realize is that even though this may be instructive to the church too, when Jesus said this He was speaking of and to Old Testament Israel. Not the church.  

Jesus also said of and to Israel “this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” What end was He talking about that “this gospel of the kingdom” being preached in all the world would lead to? He was talking about the end that comes at the completion of Daniel’s 70th week that was prophesied of and to Israel. The end that comes at the end of the great tribulation. A tribulation that Jesus said would be worse than anything the world has ever seen. 

It is because the church did not yet exist that these things were said of and to Israel, not the church. Because it was Jesus’ death that gave power to the New Testament that gave birth to the church. So it is Israel that Jesus said was to be the light to the world. And it is Israel for which all the things that Daniel prophesied will happen during the time of the 70 weeks prophecy that is yet to be completed. This was prophesied of Israel because too often they were not “the light of the world” God intended for them to be. And because of this they have brought blasphemy to the name of God before the Gentiles.Rom.2:24. So because this was the purpose for Israel and not the church, the purpose of the church is not “to make the world a better place”.

But, don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that if enough people in society come to saving faith in Jesus so that culture lives as God’s love shows us we should that it wouldn’t be wonderful. It would be. But, what I am saying is that the kind of thinking that says this is the purpose of the church being here is the thinking that gets the believer’s eyes off of the things of God, and onto the things of this world’s system. It’s the kind of thinking from which the harlot Roman Catholic religion was created. This is why we see her involved in all manner of politics for the purpose of creating a kingdom now. Instead of simply preaching Paul’s gospel. Because of this, the kingdom she is focused on creating will only be the kingdom of antichrist. Because Jesus said His kingdom is not of this world.John18:36. 

This is why even though the true church is here to preach the gospel so that as many as possible will be saved, we see Jesus, Paul, and Peter clearly say that as the end nears “evil men will wax worse and worse”.2Tim.3:13. This means when we think the true church is only doing its job correctly if we see the world changing into the kingdom Jesus preached is wrong. Because that kingdom only comes after the great tribulation is over. When Christ returns to rule and reign with Israel for 1,000 years. So the gospel the true church preaches is not preached for the purpose of changing the fact that as time goes on evil men wax worse and worse so that we bring Christ’s kingdom on earth now. Because to believe that would mean we believe we can alter the word of God. Which can not be done?

The Christian is to preach the gospel to effect a change in the hearts of men one at a time. So that their heart is on the things of God and not on the things of this world. Not to take over a political system to make the world a better place like the promised kingdom to Israel during the millennium will be that Jesus will rule and reign over. No, our job is to make disciples of Christ of as many as will hear to live in the kingdom Paul preached to the church. 
Jesus said this world at this time is not His kingdom. Did Jesus or Paul or any of the rest of the apostles ever try to overthrow the gov’t either by preaching or by force to make it His kingdom? No, they never did. And they never taught others to. That is because they all knew that the kingdom Jesus preached only comes after Jesus’ gospel has been preached in all the world. Because only then will it be time for the end to come, and for the kingdom to begin, that Jesus preached. 

So the Christian preaches the gospel with the sole intent to change the person’s heart for God that he is speaking to so they can enter the kingdom Paul preached. Not to change this world by forcing God’s Spirit on every man through political activism. Because that is something that can only be done by free will. It can not be done by force. This is why the more we preach the more we see the world waxing worse and worse just as Jesus and the apostles said it would. Scoffers and mockers abound. The perilous times Paul spoke of are upon us now. Times of which we are also told happen because many will not hear sound doctrine.2Tim.4:3. 2Tim.4:3 is an indictment in regard to what is happening in the visible “church”. Not the world. 

This proves that when we hear some blaming the condition of the world on the true church not doing its job they are sadly mistaken. Because changing the world into God’s kingdom is not the role of the true church. To the contrary, those of us who are the true church are here only to preach the true gospel to a lost and dying world so that they will be ready when Jesus comes to catch us a way to be with Him in the air as 1Thes.4:15-18 says He will. One person at a time. To make disciples of the comparatively few, both in and out of the visible “church”, who will hear the message of confessing Jesus is LORD and believing He has raised from the dead to be saved. Something that is done by telling them “that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them“(2Cor.5:19). It is this “word of reconciliation”, and not the message that God punishes us with hell because we are bad, that He has committed unto us who are saved, that saves all who will hear it and believe in Him. 

So it is a sign of the times and a fulfillment of prophecy, and not an indictment on the true church, that most men have become so hard of hearing and unwilling to allow God to separate them to faith in Him and from trusting in the things of this world. Which is holiness whose by-product is godly living? Because it is not the job of the true church to bring God’s kingdom down to earth. But, instead only to prepare men for the kingdom we who are saved will inherit after we leave earth(1Cor.15:50). 

And it is because most choose not to separate themselves from idols by the power of the living and true God Jesus Christ, that they will join with their false god in the lake of fire for all eternity. Because who or what we choose as our god/God is an eternal choice. It’s not because God is angry at men for not believing in Him, or because they have done bad things, that men end up in the lake of fire. Just as it’s not because as some have wrongly believed they are saved because God’s wrath is appeased because He was satisfied by beating and killing Jesus “in our place” that they go to heaven. There is only one reason men go to heaven or to hell. And that reason is that in the end, all men make the free will eternal choice to either believes in the true God for eternal life. Or to believe in a false god for eternal death (John5:29). This then is what determines who we will spend eternity with. The false god or the true God.     SO CHOOSE WISELY

If you are reading this God is calling you. He loves you and wants you to know Him. Because knowing Him is eternal life.John17:3. So if you do not know Him please take the time right now to pray and confess Jesus as Lord of your life. And believe that He has raised from the dead. Because by doing this and really meaning it from your heart you will be saved from death to life. From sin to righteousness. And from the wrath to peace with God. Because when you trust in Jesus you leave the old life behind where you were only equipped to trust in what has been made. And now will be equipped to trust in Jesus who alone can equip you for heaven. Because He is the only WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.

The Birth Pains Are Growing Stronger….

One of the signs of ruling class collapse is when they can no longer enforce the rules that maintain them as a ruling class. When the Romans started making exceptions to republican governance, it was a matter of time before someone simply decided the rules no longer applied to them. Perhaps the robot historians will consider Obama our Marius or Sulla. Maybe that person is in the near future. Either way, the rule of law is over and what comes next is the rule of men.
