Please note that in this message there are no reasons given for Jesus’ death that have to do with the payment of a penalty for sin or any of its ramifications as so many who have been so deceived for so long teach. The reason for this is that none of that line of thinking comes from what the Bible says. So if you have had the misfortune of having been taught and have come to believe that death is a penalty for Adam’s sin, then pretty much everything you have believed about God, Jesus, and the atonement is a deception. And this message is specifically for you. Because that false teaching comes out of the false doctrines of the pagan gnostic Augustine who is the “doctor of theology” for the roman religion, and his disciples Martin Luther and John Calvin. Men who both spouted the doctrines of Augustine who said “I have tried hard to maintain the free choice of the human will, but the grace of God prevailed.

Free choice of the will was present in that man who was the first to be formed. But after he sinned by that free will, we who have descended from his progeny have been plunged into a necessity.” While Paul plainly taught the contrary by saying that all men are just the same as Adam was when he was created a living soul saying “The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is earthy, such are they also that are earthy.” Also said of those that are earthy and natural men that all men including Adam are; “the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”So put on your spiritual thinking caps if you’ve got ’em and come learn what the Bible really says about why Jesus had to die.

The Holy Spirit: The Power of God | United Church of God

Reason # 1.Jesus had to die because all men are born naturally just as Paul says Adam was when God made him. Paul says that the natural man is only flesh and blood and therefore can not inherit the kingdom of God. He teaches that when God made  Adam he was “a living soul”. Something Paul learned when he read and believed Gen.2:7. And as “a living soul” Paul says by inspiration of the Holy Spirit that Adam “was not spiritual but natural” in 1Cor.15:45,46. And Paul also says in 1Cor.15:50 that God’s kingdom can not be inherited by the natural man because what is only flesh and blood can not inherit the spiritual kingdom of God. So Paul makes it abundantly clear that man’s inability to inherit the kingdom of God has nothing to do with the false teaching that man inherited a sin nature from Adam.
He even said that the natural man that Adam was when he was made, and that all men are when they are born, “can not perceive the things of the Spirit” in 1Cor.2:14. So one of the reasons the Bible gives for why Jesus had to die is because from the very beginning when God made Adam God did not equip him to be able to inherit the spiritual kingdom of God. But, only to live in this natural world. And God called this “very good” in Gen.1:31.

This means that even if Adam had never sinned anyone could inherit the spiritual eternal kingdom of God we call heaven because all men would have remained only natural flesh and blood just as Adam was when God made him. And Paul stated plainly that “Flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God” in 1Cor.15:50. This is why Peter writes that it was always God’s plan to come as a man to make men spiritual beings. We know this because Peter writes, “Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

For all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” 1Peter1:20-25. This is why Jesus told Nicodemus of the second birth that was absolutely imperative that Nicodemus has. A birth that is a spiritual birth that without which no man can see the kingdom of God. Because all men are natural, not spiritual just as Adam was when God made him. 1Cor.15:47-49.

Reason # 2. Jesus had to die because men can not eat from the tree of life. A tree that only brought physical life to man as long as he remained in the garden. And that when a man was sent from the garden he would no longer be able to live forever. Because the world he now would live in is a world where death reigns so that man dies at a ratio of 1 for 1. This is not because he inherited a sin nature from Adam as that false doctrine says. Or that all men were made guilty by the imputation of Adam’s sin. But, only because he no longer eats from the tree of life. This was part of the instructions that God gave man about what would happen after he had the knowledge of good and evil he gained by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That after having this knowledge he would no longer live there. Telling him that in the day he ate thereof he would surely die. Or literally “dying you shall die”.

God was telling him that he would begin dying on the day he ate from the tree. And would continue in that process until he would finally die. Which we have seen happening to mankind since that day just as God said it would. This process is the result of not being able to eat from the tree of life anymore. And has nothing to do with any inheritance or imputation of Adam’s sin to anyone. As Rom.5:12-14 plainly state. Because when Adam ate from the tree of life in the garden as God told him to death could not touch him. But, we know from Paul’s teaching that this was only physical life because Paul’s doctrine says that Adam was not spiritual but only natural when God created him. This is why Adam needed the fruit from the tree of life for him to be able to physically live forever.

So what Jesus’ death brought to the physical, natural man is the gift of eternal spiritual life through a new birth that happens when we trust in Jesus as Lord and His resurrection as Paul taught in Rom.10:9,10. A birth that is of the Spirit of God that Jesus spoke of in John3:1-8. A birth that makes men a “new creation” as Paul said in 2Cor.5:17. A man with a spirit in him that never existed before. Because of birth that Paul called “the first fruits of the spirit” in Rom.8:23 that brings with it the promise of the redemption of our natural bodies. A redemption that takes these natural flesh and blood bodies and makes them spiritual eternal glorified bodies that will live forever in God’s spiritual kingdom(1Cor.1550-54. Redeemed by the ransom price that Jesus paid with the body that God prepared for Him as Heb.10:5 says. A ransom that was an exchange of the mortal body Jesus had while living on earth as a man, for the spiritual glorified body that Jesus got in the resurrection.

Reason # 3. Jesus had to die because Israel needed deliverance from the Old Covenant so that they would no longer be “slaves to sin” as Jesus said in John 8:34, and Paul said in Rom.6:22,23, that they were as long as they remained under the Old Covenant. And as it’s slave their end would be eternal death. Because as long as they were under the law sin had the power to enslave them. This is why we read Paul saying “the strength of sin is the law” in 1Cor.15:56.
So they needed deliverance from the Old Covenant so that sin would no longer have the power to enslave them. And it is in Hebrews9:15-17 that we find how Jesus’ death gave power to a New Covenant. And that His death “was for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament”. And since Paul makes it clear that only Israel was ever under the first testament, as he plainly states in Eph.2:12, only Israel ever needed deliverance from it. So that the New Covenant that Jesus’ death gave power to would give them the spiritual eternal life that no man ever had from the time God made Adam. And a spiritual eternal life the Old Covenant was never made to give them. So Jesus’ death was necessary to bring the Israelite who trusts in Him into this New Covenant that His death gave power to. And out of the Old Covenant that kept them slaves to sin.

Reason # 4. Jesus had to die because the Gentiles needed a covenant with God so they could have eternal life. As I said before Paul taught in Eph.2:12 that no Gentile had ever been in the Old Covenant with Israel. That covenant was only made with Israel. They were the people God gave His oracles to so that through their bloodline the Messiah would come. So the Gentile never having a covenant with God was given the opportunity to be in covenant with God by Jesus’ death and resurrection. Because when the Gentile trusts in Jesus he becomes the new creature that Paul said all believers become. A man with a spirit birthed in him that makes him a child of God as Rom.8:14 says. A child who is now eligible for inheriting from His Father the kingdom we have been promised in the new birth by Jesus when He said “Ye must be born again” in John3. So the Gentile turns from idols to serve the living and true God he is saved from death to life just as the Israelite who trusts in Jesus is. This is why Paul said that when the Jew and Gentile believers in Jesus they are made one new man. They are not a Jew anymore. And they are not Gentile anymore. They are children of God with the evidence of the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Antichrist (Eph. 6:11 w/ Rev. 13 & Dan. 7-12) | Grace ...

Reason # 5.Jesus had to die because unless He died there could be no resurrection. And only by the resurrection could death be conquered for all who will believe in Him and His resurrection. The death Jesus had to die made it necessary that He be a partaker in flesh and blood the same as we are. Because only by being a man the same as we are could He die the same death all men die. This is why John cautioned those he was teaching in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John not to believe the antichrist doctrine that says Jesus did not come in the same flesh all men have. Saying that if one does not believe Jesus came in the same flesh all men have they have not God in 2John1:9. So by dying the same death, all men do Jesus was able to join with all men under death’s power so that by His resurrection He broke death’s power over all who will trust in Him. So it was absolutely necessary for Jesus to die so that He could conquer death by His resurrection.

Istoria Ministries Blog: Imputed, Imparted, and Imbedded ...

Reason # 6. Jesus had to die because only after the testator dies does their covenant have power. This means that when someone writes a will, a testament, for it to have the legal power to leave an inheritance to those they are leaving their possessions to, the person who wrote the will must die first. This is how Jesus’ death gave power to the New Covenant. And since the New Covenant has power all who believe in Him are now the beneficiaries of that covenant because that is the condition His covenant has. So when that condition is met only then will they receive the inheritance of eternal life. Reason # 7. Jesus had to die because no matter how well the Israelites kept the law, and the Bible says plainly that there were Israelites who “walked in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless” in Luke1:5,6 and Phil.3:6, it could not give them life. This is true because the law was never given for that purpose. It was given because of Israel’s transgressions according to Gal.3:19. To preserve them as a people until “the seed should come to whom the promise was made”. And Paul plainly says in Gal.3:21 “For if there had been given a law that could give life, then surely righteousness would have come through the law”. Notice here too that in this verse Paul makes life and righteousness synonymous. He does so because this is exactly what Jesus was saying when He told Israel in John17:3 “This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

So these are the reasons the Bible tells us Jesus had to die. Making any message that speaks of Jesus’ death being necessary to pay a penalty because of an inherited or imputed sin from Adam a different gospel. A perverted gospel that Paul said is anathema in Gal.1:8,9. Because God’s love is only conditioned on whether one will choose of their own free will to receive it or not. And not the payment of a penalty or on one’s own behavior or nature. Will you believe what the Bible plainly says, or the false teachers whose false Jesus can save no one from the power of death? Will you believe in the Jesus of the Bible? Will you be born of His Spirit so you too can inherit eternal life? The fleshly birth only prepared you for this natural world where death reigns. Will you too be born again by being born of His Spirit? So that as His child you will now have for your inheritance His kingdom that is eternal where there is no death?

If you are reading this God is calling you. He loves you and wants you to know Him. Because knowing Him is this eternal life that provides you with the spirit that makes you God’s child.John17:3. Because while all men are created by God, not all men are born of His Spirit so that they are children of God. It is only those who have come to know Him that is spiritual because knowing Him is to be born of His Spirit. So if you do not know Him, but have now believed that He is Lord and that He has raised from the dead to conquer death for you, then please take the time right now to talk to Him and confess to Jesus that He is Lord of your life. And believe that He has raised from the dead to conquer death for you. If you do believe in Him then tell Him something like this and you will have eternal life:

Dear Jesus, I believe you. Thank you for joining with me in death so that by conquering death by your resurrection I could join with you in eternal life. Thank you that you raised from the dead so that I could raise from the dead too by trusting in, clinging to, and relying solely on you. Thank you for giving me a new spirit now Lord so that I can live with you in your kingdom forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Romans 6:19 - Verse of the Day

By praying a prayer similar to this one and really meaning it from your heart you have been saved from death to life. From sin to righteousness. And from the wrath to peace with God. And now as you begin reading the Bible and believing what it plainly says it will begin to change the way you think and believe. Because when you trust in Jesus you leave the old life behind where you were only able to relate to and trust in what has been made. And now will be equipped for God’s kingdom because you are no longer only natural flesh and blood, but are a new creature made a spiritual being ready to inherit God’s spiritual kingdom. It is because of Jesus’ resurrection that He is the only WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. Because only Jesus has broken through the wall of death that the flesh and blood natural body can never get through. And only by the new birth are we made ready to receive the spiritual body that can go through the wall of death as Jesus’ did first so we could follow Him in the way He has prepared for us.

God Bless you in your new life in Christ.
