First I want to say a few words about Charlie Kirk. From what I know from what he has said about his faith. He had an understanding of God, Jesus, and the atonement that was close to what is taught in seminaries. He believed the soul was different than the body. And He also believed that grace could be overemphasized. The reason he believed the soul was different from the body did not come from the Bible. But, from teaching in the churches. And his belief that grace can be overemphasized did not come from the Bible. His definition of grace also came from teaching in the churches. In this dispensation we who have believed must preach what Paul calls the ministry of reconciliation. It is a ministry that believers are given by God to tell the unbelieving world that first of all God has already forgiven you of your sins. So it is not because of naughty behavior that anyone goes to hell. And He is not mad at you for some perceived bad thing or things you may have done. And secondly that now the only thing standing in the way of them having eternal life is their unbelief. This is why Jesus told the disciples in John16:7-11 that when the Holy Spirit comes He will reprove the world of only one sin. The sin of unbelief. The sin of having no faith in Him. But, wait! By Edward O’Hara In Heb.5 Paul was teaching them about maturity as a believer. He said milk is for babes who have not matured to be able to eat meat. And that strong meat is for those who by reason of use have exercised their senses to be able to discern between good and evil. But, because these for the time they had been believers in the OT and now the NT should have been able to eat the meat of the word and skillful in it’s use, still had not yet grown to maturity and had need of milk. His reproof being a gentle reminder that like most of us they needed to spend more time in God’s word. Because it is by doing this that faith, that is our relationship with Jesus, grows.
