And she shall bring forth a son, and ye shall call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins”

image1.JPG

When you read Mt.1:21 do you see a message that is for all times for the whole world? Or only for “His people” as the verse says? The answer, of course, is that the message in this verse is only for “His people” Israel. Which I will now explain in this message. In the gospel that Jesus preached, we see that He told His people Israel that to have eternal life they must keep the commandments of Moses (Mt.19:16-21) and believe that He is the messiah (John5:24). But, Paul’s gospel says that salvation only comes by grace through faith without the works of the law(Rom.4:1-5). And that no flesh shall be justified by the works of the law. But, instead is only justified by “the faith of Christ”(Gal.2:16 and Phil.3:6-9).

This shows that if we read the verse in the picture believing it is meant for all times for the whole world when Jesus said He was here only for the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Mt.15:24), then Paul’s gospel is a lie. Because Paul said that his gospel had never been preached before (Col.1:26). In Jesus’ gospel, He told “His people” the Israelites that they must keep the law to have eternal life in Mt.19:17,18. And that with their keeping of the law they must also believe in Him as their messiah for eternal life in John8:24. While Paul’s gospel taught that it works, and especially works of the law, were included in their pursuit of justification they could not have eternal life. Because he taught that no flesh shall be justified by the works of the law. And that we are saved by grace through faith, not of works.

So it is because when Mt.1:21 says Jesus came to save His people from their sins, those sins were sins defined by the law that Israelites were constantly reminded of while under the Old Testament(Heb.10:3). A law that the rest of the world was never required by God to keep (Eph.2:11-15). A law that the rest of the world is never held accountable by God (Rom.2:11-14). Paul makes this abundantly clear by saying that those in New Testament times, the time after which Jesus’ death gave power to the New Testament, are saved by grace through faith. Not of works lest any man should boast(Eph.2:8,9). And Paul compares this salvation to the example of the faith without works righteousness God reckoned for Abraham(Rom.4:1-5).

This means that while Jesus’ death brought a New Testament wherein the whole world could be saved. Jesus’ message while living as a man on earth, His gospel, was not for the whole world. But, only for His people the Israelites. To save “His people from their sins”. The “mystery” He gave to Paul that was not given to any age or generations past (Eph.1) however is for the whole world. This is why it is Paul’s gospel that created the church that is made up of both Jew and Gentile. A church that never existed in Jesus’ day. So it is Paul’s gospel that is for us. Not Jesus’. This means that even things like the “beatitudes” and “the Lord’s Prayer” and Jesus’ “commandments” etc are not for the whole world. But, only for “His people” the Israelites.

This does not, however, change the fact that Jesus is the “cornerstone” of both of these gospels. Because in both these gospels we see Jesus as the way, truth, and life. But, while Jesus’ gospel was sole to “save His people from their sins”(Mt.1:21). Sins that were defined by the law given only to Israel through Moses. Paul’s gospel is for all men whether they were under the law as Israel was or not. For both the Israelite and the Gentiles who have never had the law.

This is even why we see what seems to be a difference in the gospel Paul taught and that which the rest of the apostles taught. Because Paul was sent to the uncircumcision, and the rest of the apostles went to the circumcision according to Gal.2:9. Giving their messages of the saving power of Christ to both of these groups with a different starting point for each. Paul’s gospel started from the perspective of dealing with Gentiles who never had and so was not held accountable to a covenant with God (Eph.2:12). While the gospel the rest of the apostles preached started from the perspective of dealing with Israelites who had a covenant with God before Jesus came.

Both of these gospels pointed to Jesus. But, those sent to the circumcision (Israelites) had to start by showing them how Jesus fulfilled the law and the prophets just as He said He came to do (Mt.5:17,18). which proved that He was their messiah. Which is done masterfully in the letter written to the Hebrews. While Paul’s ministry was to show the uncircumcision(Gentiles) how that Jesus is the one true God by exposing the gods they were accustomed to worship to be no Gods at all (1Thes.1:9). But, were imposters meant to keep them from knowing the true God. So that their message had nothing to do with their need for forgiveness of sins under the law as the message that was taken to Israel.

This difference is also seen when we read Acts15. Because in it we see that they were arguing over whether Gentiles should be taught as Israelites were who were coming to faith in Jesus concerning circumcision and the keeping of the law. To which the apostles all agreed that to do so would be to “subvert their souls”. Acts.15:24. Deciding that the only thing needed when preaching the gospel to Gentiles was that they were to tell them to also stop doing the things they did when they used to worship idols.

This is why Paul said we must “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”2Tim.2:15. So that we will then be able to “In meekness instructs those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”2Tim.2:25,26.
Only by knowing the difference between these two different gospels to two different “dispensations”(Eph.3), 1. Israel before Jesus’ death, and 2. Israel and the Gentiles after Jesus’ death, will we be able to accomplish this. Only then will we be able to keep ourselves from being “reprobate” as Paul says when we “examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye, not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”2Cor.13;5.

If you are reading this God is calling you. He loves you and wants you to know Him. Because knowing Him is eternal life.John17:3. So if you do not know Him please take the time right now to pray and confess Jesus as Lord of your life. And believe that He has raised from the dead. Because by doing this and really meaning it from your heart you will be saved from death to life. From sin to righteousness. And from the wrath to peace with God. Because when you trust in Jesus you leave the old life behind where you were only equipped to trust in what has been made. And now will be equipped to trust in Jesus who alone can equip you for heaven because He is the only WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.

God often uses men who are not of the best moral character. Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, Herod, and Trump (amongst others), to accomplish His will in events He orchestrates during human history. We either trust the sovereignty of God or we don’t. Nothing happens apart from Him…

The best index to a person’s character is how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back…

The Birth Pains Are Growing Stronger….

One of the signs of ruling class collapse is when they can no longer enforce the rules that maintain them as a ruling class. When the Romans started making exceptions to republican governance, it was a matter of time before someone simply decided the rules no longer applied to them. Perhaps the robot historians will consider Obama our Marius or Sulla. Maybe that person is in the near future. Either way, the rule of law is over and what comes next is the rule of men.

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9. persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10. always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
