Did you know that Paul’s teaching that he calls “the mystery that was hidden from ages past” in Col.1 speaks of the church leaving this place for heaven?  We can only see this when we understand correctly who the “he who withholds” is that Paul says holds back “the man of sin” so he will be revealed “in his time” in 2Thes.2:6-9. This is a clue to the timing of the “caught up” that is our blessed hope. Because only in this dispensation do men have the indwelling Holy Spirit. So when that is to be no more then the rapture happens.

The SUDDEN Snatching Away ( Rapture ) Of The Church: " In A Moment..In The Twinkling Of An Eye ...

When we add to this the message in John16:7-11 where Jesus told the disciples He had to leave or the Holy Spirit could not come we see another clue to this timing. It is from this message, coupled with some other things Paul wrote, that we know the timing for the church’s leaving. The “caught up” that Paul speaks of in 1Thes.4. Which is also referenced in Rom.11:25-27.

The difference between the mystery Paul preached and the Old Covenant that helps us to know the timing of the “rapture”, is also seen in John14:17 where Jesus said that after He leaves the Holy Spirit would be with them and would be in them. The Holy Spirit is IN them was something that no one had ever experienced before. So by telling them that as long as He stayed the Holy Spirit would not come to them, Jesus was actually telling them that if He did not leave things would continue as they always had for Israel under the Old covenant. And that the Holy Spirit would continue to only come upon those who speak for Him like He did the prophets of old. So what Jesus was telling them when He said “He shall be in you” was a clue to what “the mystery” was that Paul was given to preach to the church. Which is “Christ in you the hope of glory”.

But, how does this connect with the timing of the church being caught up? It is shown by the fact that both before and after this dispensation where the Holy Spirit indwells the believer, the dispensation Paul called the grace of God, the Lord ministers to solely to Israel. Not the whole world. We see this in Heb.1:1,2 where it says “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son“. And Rev.2,3 where we see Jesus again speaking directly to them as He did in the Old Covenant. Because in these Jesus is teaching Israel by the Holy Spirit coming upon prophets to speak to the people as He used to. He did not indwell them as He does each individually in the church now. And we know this was only for Israel and not the whole world because Paul taught this in Eph.2:12 saying that until this dispensation the Gentiles were not in covenant with God as Israel was. But, in these last days, Christ has ministered to the whole world, both Jew and Gentile, through the new birth and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit witnessing with our spirit that we are the sons of God. Which is “Christ in you the hope of glory”.

Paul speaks in another place of this dispensation where he defines it as “the fulness of the Gentiles”. He says in Rom.11:25-27: “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.” So this shows us there is a time coming that is after the fulness of the Gentiles has come in when “all Israel shall be saved”. Because it is at this time that national Israel will look upon Him whom they have pierced and recognize Jesus as their Messiah. And by this, they will be joined with their spiritual brothers the Gentiles that together with them make up the “all Israel that shall be saved”.  The spiritual Israel that Paul speaks of in Rom.9:8-13.

Morning, January 21st (Spurgeon's Devotional)

This reference to “all Israel shall be saved” shows us how that in the completion of Daniel’s 70th week that happens in the tribulation all of spiritual Israel will be completed. This refers to the “one new man” that Paul said is the Jew and Gentile coming together in Christ by the middle wall of partition which is the “commandments written in ordinances” being “abolished”. So “all Israel shall be saved” refers to the fulness of the Gentiles and the fulness of the Israelites being made one new man at the completion of the 70th week of Daniel.

Zechariah12:9,10 speaks of this day saying, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”
The mystery of “blindness in part” that has happened to Israel is caused by Israel’s refusal to believe in Jesus as their Messiah. This causes the veil to remain over their eyes when they read the Old Testament. A veil like the one that was torn that kept Israel from the Holiest of Holies. Paul said of this veil, And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless, when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”2Cor.3:13-18.

So Paul is saying that this blindness is to be removed when “the fulness of the Gentiles” has come in. A fulness that is coming to pass during this dispensation only. Because it is in this dispensation only that we have the covenant that brings the indwelling Holy Spirit for all men, both Jew and Gentile, which is “Christ in you the hope of glory”. The indwelling Holy Spirit that takes away the veil over the Israelite’s mind when he accepts Jesus. But, remains until the fulness of the Gentiles comes in for those Israelites who do not. This is what it means when Paul says “all Israel shall be saved”.

Paul wrote of this hope saying, “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” in Col.1:27,28. This hope culminates with the church being “caught up” as Paul says in 1Thes.4:16-18 to be with Jesus after the fulness of the Gentiles has come in. These are the words that Paul said we are to comfort one another with as we see the times of tribulation coming closer.

Is the Rapture Real? | United Church of God

This hope is the result of our growing to maturity through the love of God that He sheds abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Paul says in Rom.5:1-5 is shed abroad in our hearts through tribulation developing patience in us. The patience that gives us experience because we see God working in our lives for our good. And that experience Paul says gives us hope that leaves the man of God not ashamed because God’s love is shed abroad in us. It is by this love that the Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth.

This is the mystery that is for this dispensation only. Because under the law there is no indwelling Holy Spirit. And there is no love being shed abroad in the heart of the believer. But, only His occasionally coming upon those He is speaking through as Heb.1:1,2 says- “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds”.

This is why when they killed Jesus on the cross Jesus said: “forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do”. Because these did not know that the crucifixion was part of God’s plan to bring the gospel to the Gentiles. So that what they were doing was actually necessary to give the New Covenant power. Because a covenant only has power after the testator(Jesus) dies(Heb.9:15-28). The New Covenant was needed because the Old Covenant was only for Israel. And the New Covenant contained in it the righteousness that gives the eternal life that was never in the law. But, Jesus knew. Which is why He asked the Father to forgive them. And you know what? He did right after Jesus died. Because in this dispensation Paul says “God is not imputing their trespasses to them”. 2Cor.5:19.
We are coming to the time when the church will leave in the rapture. But, this doesn’t mean the Holy Spirit leaves with us. It only refers to how He accomplishes His duties when things are changed back to the way it was in the Old Covenant.

hebrews 9

This is why when Jesus left He told us He had to because if He did not the Holy Spirit would not be able to come. And that His coming would lead them into all truth. The truth that He could not tell them because they could not bear it then. Because they were not born of the Spirit nor did they have the indwelling Holy Spirit to “bear witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together” as Paul says in Rom.8:15,16. His leading by indwelling us is for this dispensation alone.
In the Old Covenant, He only came upon them. And that only from time to time. This is why David prayed “take not thy Holy Spirit from me”. Both before and during the time when Jesus came this is how the Holy Spirit functioned. And when the great tribulation begins this will resume because it is the finishing of the final week of Daniel’s prophecy. A prophecy for Israel under the law.

So during the great trib the Holy Spirit will be here. But, He will not indwell believers like He does today. They will once again only be natural men, not spiritual as Paul said all men were until Jesus came. This is why we read in Rev.14:12 that they will have to keep the commandments and believe in Jesus again just like when He came the first time to have eternal life. This will bring all Israel to receive the kingdom they were promised in the Old Covenant as Paul says in Rom.11:25. This kingdom is the millennial kingdom.

This is why what Paul taught is a mystery. Which is Christ in you the hope of glory. Because only in this dispensation does the Holy Spirit indwell believers. At any other time He does not. So Christ in you is the Holy Spirit indwelling you. This is why Jesus told the disciples that when the Holy Spirit comes He will not “speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

This mystery Paul preached that was never taught before was for all people. Not just Israel. And Israel never experienced this mystery in all their dealings with God in the Old Covenant because they never had the indwelling Holy Spirit. Because God reserved it for the New Covenant. Only in this New Covenant are men filled with the Holy Spirit. And it is this indwelling that is Christ in us the hope of glory. So what glory do we hope for? The glory of the resurrected body that is filled with the new spirit that was birthed in us when we trusted in Jesus. This spirit birth qualifies us, it is the firstfruits, for the spiritual kingdom that only spirits inherit.

Have you believed in Jesus? Have you been born of the Spirit so you too can inherit eternal life? So that you too can be led by the Spirit of God? If you are reading this God is calling you. He loves you and wants you to know Him. Because knowing Him is eternal life.John17:3. So if you do not know Him, but now would really want to, then please take the time right now to pray and confess Jesus as Lord of your life. And believe that He has raised from the dead. If you do believe in Him then pray something like this and you will be saved: Dear Jesus, I believe you. Thank you for joining with me in death so that by conquering death by your resurrection I could join with you in life. Thank you that you raised from the dead so that I could raise from the dead too by trusting in, clinging to, and relying solely on you. Thank you for giving me a new spirit now Lord so that I can live with you in heaven forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

By praying a prayer similar to this one and really meaning it from your heart you will be saved from death to life. From sin to righteousness. And from the wrath to peace with God. Now when you begin reading the Bible and believing what it plainly says it will begin to change the way you think and believe. Because when you trust in Jesus you leave the old life behind where you were only able to relate to and trust in what has been made. And now will be equipped for heaven because you are no longer only natural flesh and blood, but are made a spiritual being ready to inherit God’s spiritual kingdom called heaven. It is because of Jesus’ resurrection that He is the only WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. Because only Jesus has broken through the wall of death that the flesh and blood natural body can never get through. Only by the new birth are we made ready to receive the spiritual body that can go through the wall of death as Jesus’ did first.

God Bless!

God often uses men who are not of the best moral character. Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, Herod, and Trump (amongst others), to accomplish His will in events He orchestrates during human history. We either trust the sovereignty of God or we don’t. Nothing happens apart from Him…

The best index to a person’s character is how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back…

The Birth Pains Are Growing Stronger….

One of the signs of ruling class collapse is when they can no longer enforce the rules that maintain them as a ruling class. When the Romans started making exceptions to republican governance, it was a matter of time before someone simply decided the rules no longer applied to them. Perhaps the robot historians will consider Obama our Marius or Sulla. Maybe that person is in the near future. Either way, the rule of law is over and what comes next is the rule of men.
