America has lost its soul

Sometimes in Life, We Have to Deal With the Fallout of Someone Else’s Decision

Even though they were starving due to the harsh weather, David prayed to the LORD still. It was more than just cycles, in his opinion. It was neither a coincidence nor a natural occurrence in his view. Seeking an explanation from God, he pondered this “natural” difficulty. Discoveries await our pursuit.

And to David, God spoke. We are utterly confused about the process. Either he could have heard it or felt it in his heart. One of the prophets might have been the conduit. The explanation given was that the area was being punished by God for an event that occurred in the past. Joshua had formed an old covenant with the Gibeonites, and Saul had broken it. By seeming as though they were from another nation, they managed to fool Israel into signing a peace pact. Still, a pact was formally established. In defiance of this long-ago covenant, Saul went to war with them.

Sometimes in life, we have to deal with the fallout of someone else’s choices. Cloud Seeding, God may be keeping the books in order, even though the reasons for problems aren’t always obvious. We can ask the LORD for guidance on how to make things right, and He may reveal a solution that will allow God to shower rain again justly on the land. Something from our own lives will usually be the catalyst. Perhaps you need to ask for forgiveness or provide an apology.

Think about it: Whether it’s our own or someone else’s failure that brings us trials, we can always gain a lesson from them if we seek the LORD’s face.
