Ottawa Police Chief Promises to “Rebuild Public Trust” Whilst Detesting Freedom Convoy Demonstrations.

Following the Freedom Convoy protest, which parked in the city for almost three weeks to resist federal COVID-19 rules and restrictions, temporary police chief Steve Bell promised to “rebuild public trust” in the municipal force. “The residents of Ottawa have been subjected to great inconveniences, fear, and uncertainty over the past month as a result of illegal protests in our city,” Bell stated in a statement on March 7. “It’s reasonable to have questions about the direction of the Ottawa Police Department, and it’s critical that we respond squarely to those issues.” The Ottawa police force, according to Bell, has “created an experienced and diverse leadership team” that is committed to “cultural and systemic transformation.” He said the service would continue internal investigations into inappropriate police action in relation to what he called “illegal protests” in Ottawa, and that a…

Six Industries Challenge Western Australia Vaccine Mandates.

In the midst of a similar legal struggle between the state and members of the WA Police Force, members of six new significant sectors are challenging Western Australia’s (WA) vaccination mandates in court. Police, health, construction, education, fire and emergency services, corrections, and essential electricity infrastructure are now among the seven industries involved in the legal processes. On Nov. 26, 2021, WA Police Senior Constable Ben Falconer filed the first case after he and other unvaccinated employees were threatened with disciplinary consequences if they did not get vaccinated by Dec. 21. Representatives for all seven groups, Hotchkin Hanley Lawyers, successfully defended the initial challenge on Dec. 24 in a landmark judgement that allowed all 25 unvaccinated police officers to keep their jobs until the final trial in March 2022. “The applicants in the six additional challenges, all of whom have…

House GOP Bill Enables Vaccine Objectors to Sue in Federal Court to Keep Jobs.

Americans who are afraid of losing their employment because they refuse to acquire one of the CCP virus vaccines could sue in federal court if Rep. Diana Harshbarger’s bill passes. “Many Americans were forced to choose between their work and getting immunized because of the Biden administration’s unlawful regulations,” Harshbarger said in a statement released by the Republican Study Committee (RSC). “While this is wrong and should never have happened, those who are forced to get vaccinated should have full legal rights to suit if they are hurt.” “My bill, the Protecting Americans’ Medical Rights Act, is a step forward in holding this administration and our government accountable.” Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), chairman of the RSC, which is the largest caucus in Congress with 159 members, hailed Harshbarger’s idea, stating, “the Left coerced Americans into medical procedures against their will…

Parents Protest Against California Mask Regulations In Schools.

When California lifted the indoor mask mandate for vaccinated adults while awaiting the decision for all K-12 kids and instructors, many parents lost patience. On the morning of Feb. 15, hundreds of parents and students protested in front of the Chino Valley Unified School District. “It’s time for our children to speak up for their rights, and for our parents to support our children in their right to choose whether or not to wear the mask,” Kadie Kirkpatrick, a student’s mother, told The Epoch Times. She believes that requiring students to wear masks for an extended period of time causes more harm than good. “Masks are something they despise. They no longer want to go to school. “Everything at school is really sad and miserable,” she remarked. With the number of new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations declining, California has chosen…

78 Year Old Man Arrested for Honking During Ottawa Anti-Mandate Demonstration.

A 78-year-old man was arrested and fined by Ottawa police for honking his horn in support of the continuing truckers’ protest in the nation’s capital. On February 6, Gerry Charlebois was driving near the truckers’ Freedom Convoy protests when he was stopped by police at Besserer and Friel Streets after giving the truckers “a thumbs-up and a honk.” According to a video posted to Twitter, when Charlebois was obtaining his identification from the rear of his vehicle, a police officer wrenched his arm, knocking him to the ground and cutting and bruised him. The police subsequently arrested Charlebois on grounds that he had failed to identify himself, and gave him a ticket of $110 for allegedly generating “unnecessary noise.” David Anber, a criminal lawyer who is representing Charlebois, said the arrest is “unlawful.” “The question of the arrest’s legality is…
