2Thes.2:3,4- “3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
This club I am referring to that hopefully you are not a part of is the club that meets every Sunday to hear about a god that required the bloody and torturous death of the innocent to appease his wrath.
The god John spoke of in 1John4:3 whose spirit of antichrist leads you away from the Jesus who came in the same flesh all men have. To the false god who makes you deny this doctrine of Christ.
Of whom John also spoke in 2John saying, “7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”
This false god who denies this doctrine of Christ is a god spoken about also in the Old Testament whose name was Moloch or Baal. He demanded his worshippers to provide innocent blood in exchange for not punishing them. And they complied by placing their very small children in the burning hands of their very angry god.
The Sunday keepers as well as those who observe Saturday sabbath agree that this is the reason Jesus had to die. When they see Him in the manger scene their perception is that He was to be sacrificed to an angry god who demanded his blood for the same reason the god Moloch and Baal do.
They will excuse their deception by saying that these pagan gods were a counterfeit of their god. Saying their god’s demands are a copy of what the true God demands to deceive them into believing theirs is the true faith. Even though the Bible never says this was the reason God required animal sacrifices for Israel. Or that this was the reason for Jesus’ death.
In fact, what the Bible does say flies in the face of this antichrist belief system. The Bible tells us in Heb.9 that the reason for the death of animals in the Old Covenant was “16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.”
This shows that the blood represents the death of the testator. And has no power to do anything in and of itself. Contrary to the false teaching church goers are taught that there is power in the blood itself. But, only it’s representing the death of the animal as a representation of the final sacrifice of Jesus to bring an end to the sacrifices under the law.
In the case of the Old Covenant this was the death of animals. Which is why in vs.19 we read, “19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”
Note that vs.22 says “by the law purged with blood.” This is an important distinction for us who were never under or accountable to the law to recognize.
Because Paul shows us that first of all in Rom.3:19 that “what the law says it says to those who are under the law.” And because Israel was the only people who were ever under the law. No one outside of Israel has been or ever will be under the law or accountable to keep it
And then Paul gives us more confirmation of this in Rom.5:13 saying that “sin is not imputed when there is no law.” Which means for us who have never been under the law that not only are we never accountable to keep it. But, also that none of the sins the law defines have ever been or ever will be imputed to us.
The question we who have never been or ever will be accountable to the law must ask ourselves then is, “what sin(s) are we accountable before God for?” And Jesus tells us the answer is the sin of unbelief.
This is what Jesus said in John16 is “the sin of the world” the Holy Spirit is in the world since Jesus left to be with the Father reproving the world of. The only sin that has ever been able to separate anyone from God. Whether under the law or not.
This is why Paul says in Gal.3:17 “that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.” Because Israel’s justification before God has always been their faith in Him. Just like Abraham.
Unbelief is the sin John spoke of proclaiming when he saw Jesus, “Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world.” Those of us who know this are in a very exclusive club. And not the big club the churches represent.
One that has few members by comparison to the big club made up of those who believe the need for the death of Jesus is identical to the need for the death of the innocent to appease their false god Moloch’ ie /Baal’s wrath.
So if you sometimes feel like you’re in a very small group because of the truth God has shown you don’t despair. Because being a part of this very small but exclusive group is your assurance that you won’t be a part of the big club of which most will experience the falling away Paul describes in 2Thes.2.
The reason Jesus had to die has absolutely zero similarities to the demands of Moloch and Baal. His death was inevitable because without it He could not conquer death on our behalf. And neither could He give power to a New Covenant.
To do this Jesus had to join with man in our mortality. Because in God’s plan He would provide for mankind a savior who identifies with our sufferings as Heb.2:17,18 says.
Without His death there would be no resurrection. And in God’s plan it would be by His own resurrection that death would be conquered, our mortality and death by His resurrection.
This was the true purpose for His coming. His sacrifice being necessary to bring the law to an end by being the final once for all sacrifice for sins under the law. So that Israel would no longer have those sins under the law imputed to them. And for the whole world His sacrifice gave power to the New Covenant in which the whole world could now be saved by grace through faith without works.
If you are listening to this Jesus is inviting you into this very exclusive club. A club He invites all men to come into. One that in Luke14 He said, “23 Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.”
And if you would like to become a part of it and avoid the falling away that the many Jesus spoke of will be a part of. Proclaim your trust in Jesus and His resurrection right now.
The Jesus whose sacrifice had nothing to do with appeasing anyone’s wrath. But, has only to do with God showing His amazing love for all of us. As He said in John3:16,17.
A sacrifice that brought a conclusion to the law for Israel in this dispensation. So that the sins defined there are no longer imputed to them. And the offering of eternal life for both Jew and gentile. Who through faith in Jesus and His resurrection confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus. And believe in their hearts that Gad has raised Him from the dead. As Paul instructed us to do for salvation in Rom.10:9,10.
Ours is a much smaller club. But, it comes with the most awesome benefits. For example. You will be made a child of God by a spirit created in you that you never had before. A spirit that joins you to God that cannot under any circumstances ever be undone. And you will have immortality at the resurrection unto life.
Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus. And believe in your heart that He has raised from the dead and eternal life will be yours right now. And immortality will be yours at the resurrection unto life.
Do this and you will inherit God’s kingdom. Do this and a new body that will never feel pain or sorrow will be yours at the resurrection. Do this… and I will see you there or in the air!
