US HOLDS IRAQ’S ECONOMY HOSTAGE, THREATENS TO BLOCK VITAL BANK

The US threatened Iraq that it risks losing access to its government bank account if Baghdad expels the US troops deployed in the country, following a US strike that assassinated Iranian General Qassem Soleimani on its soil, according to unnamed Iraqi officials, cited by the WSJ.

The State Department warned that the U.S. could shut down Iraq’s access to the country’s central bank account held at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Essentially, if the report is true, it means that the US carrying out economic blackmail in order to pursue its interests and is keeping Iraq’s economy hostage.

The account in question is crucial to the management of Iraq’s oil revenues and its overall financial stability.

According to the most recent financial statement from the Central Bank of Iraq, the bank held almost $3 billion in overnight deposits at the close of 2018.

The report came a day after Trump threatened to seize $35 billion of Iraqi money held in US banks if the country insists on having American forces withdrawn from Iraq.

Trump said he had told Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi that Iraq “should pay back the United States for its investments in the country over the past several years or the American military will stay there.

“I said, ‘If we leave, you got to pay us,’” Trump told Fox Newsin the White House. “If we leave … you have to pay us for the money we put in.”

Asked how he planned to collect money from Iraq, Trump said:

“Well, we have a lot of their money right now. We have a lot of their money. We have $35 billion of their money right now sitting in an account. And I think they’ll agree to pay. I think they’ll agree to pay. Otherwise, we’ll stay there,” he added.

On the matter of the blocking of the bank account, spokesmen for the Iraqi prime minister, its central bank and its embassy in Washington didn’t respond to requests for comment. The U.S. State and Treasury Departments and the Federal Reserve Board declined to comment.

This follows reports that current Iraqi caretaker Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi allegedly said that Trump threatened his life and that of his Minister of Defense and threatened him with protests. The protests appear to be taking place, as per Abdul-Mahdi’s claims and he specifically resigned from his PM post due to them and as a result of the alleged threats by Trump.

Abdul-Mehdi addressed the US hostile actions against the country. For example, the politician reportedly said that the US refused to complete the infrastructure and electricity grid projects unless it is promised 50% of oil revenues. The Prime Minister refused to make the concession.

Then, when the Prime Minister visited China and reached an important agreement to undertake the construction of the projects instead of the US, President Donald Trump allegedly called him, telling him to rescind the agreement with China, otherwise, there would be massive demonstrations against him, that would force him out of his seat. Over the past four decades, the B.E.A.S.T.  has decimated America’s manufacturing capabilities while funding wars around the globe.  It has dumbed down the nation’s populace, expanded governmental welfare programs, and riled a majority of the citizenry into a perpetually psychotic discontent via the financial acquisition and consolidation of the nation’s media outlets and entertainment venues.  Through a steady barrage of hype and hypnotic electronic programming, the B.E.A.S.T. has persuaded Americans to abandon their vigilance to the founding principles which made America great originally. These principles included the affirmation of rights derived from natural law, honesty, morality, self-reliance, and equality of opportunity; as opposed to modern America’s identity politics, politically correct thought-control, equality of outcomes, fiscal irresponsibility, and unlimited government.

US President Donald Trump said that he made Saudi Arabia pay the US for the increased presence of American service personnel in the region as a result of the regional tensions.

In an interview with the American TV channel Fox News, Trump said: “Saudi Arabia is paying us for [our troops]. We have a very good relationship with Saudi Arabia.”

Trump bragging again, “I said, listen, you’re a very rich country. Do you want more troops? I’m going to send them to you, but you’ve got to pay us. They’re paying us. They’ve already deposited $1 billion in the bank.”

The reasons a nation can no longer blush begins, strangely enough, in the pulpits of the land.  It begins when men of God begin to value money and things more than they do truth and intimate fellowship with God through the Holy Spirit. 

 God makes an interesting statement as He is reproving His people through the prophet Jeremiah.  In Jeremiah 6:15 God says that although His people should have been ashamed of their actions and choices, “They did not even know how to blush.”  Now for too many in our culture, the whole concept of blushing at certain behaviors is a long-lost memory, but I actually can remember early in my walk with God when He restored to me the ability to blush.  Let’s take a brief look at God’s lament – and maybe try ourselves to recover from Him an ability to blush once again.

         The reason a nation can no longer blush begins, strangely enough, in the pulpits of the land.  It begins when men of God begin to value money and things more than they do truth and intimate fellowship with God through the Holy Spirit. 

“For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, Everyone is greedy for gain, And from the prophet even to the priest Everyone deals falsely.” 

What begins as false motives for men of God quickly degenerates into a false message to the people.  They no longer can honestly preach about sin, because they are excusing it in their own lives so they can pursue things rather than pursue God.  Thus they preach a message that is saying, “Peace, peace,” when the reality is there is no peace as long as sin is not exposed and dealt with as God desires for it to be. 

“They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace.” 

There is a brokenness that is among the people – there always is because of the Fall – and because man is not basically good – but basically sinful and selfish.  That message, though, won’t bring the crowds.  They need something far more positive – far more engaging to those who choose sin.  They need to find a way to “superficially” deal with sin.  So, they begin to proclaim that man is at peace with God – even when sin is not dealt with as God demands in His holiness.  The problem is – there is no peace when sin is not confronted and repentance is not called for by the messengers of God.  And what is the result of such theology, or the lack thereof?  No more shame and no more blushing.

“Were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done? They were not even ashamed at all; They did not even know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time that I punish them, They shall be cast down,” says the LORD. 

         God speaks of the abomination that they have done.  What was their abomination?  It was that they had left the true and living God – and made a god of their own – one who would justify however they wanted to live.  Now before we think too harshly of the Israelites – we may want to note that this is something that has been repeated in the New Testament in Romans chapter 1.  God’s wrath is revealed against all unrighteousness and ungodliness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.  Three times in that first chapter we are reminded that they did not know the true God, but exchanged Him for a god of their own making.  What was the hallmark of this new false god?  No sin!  At least no sin according to what is revealed by God in the Bible.

One of the signs of ruling class collapse is when they can no longer enforce the rules that maintain them as a ruling class. When the Romans started making exceptions to republican governance, it was a matter of time before someone simply decided the rules no longer applied to them.
