The Idolatry of Ethnic Israel
When any created thing—including a nation or ethnic group—is elevated to a position that belongs to Christ alone, this is idolatry. Dispensational Zionism makes ethnic Israel a co-redemptive entity alongside Christ.
It teaches that God has TWO peoples, TWO plans, and TWO destinies—undermining the singularity of Christ's work
It suggests Jews can be 'saved' through their ethnicity apart from explicit faith in Jesus Christ
It prioritizes the restoration of an earthly nation over the advancement of Christ's spiritual kingdom
It looks to modern political Israel as prophetically significant while ignoring that the true Israel is the Church
It expects a rebuilt temple and animal sacrifices, implying Christ's sacrifice was insufficient
Any theology that offers hope apart from Christ crucified, or elevates any nation to covenant status apart from faith in Christ, has created an idol. Dispensational Zionism is the true ‘replacement theology’—it replaces Christ with Israel.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.”
Galatians 3:28-29
In all three Synoptic Gospels, Jesus relates a story that clearly shows how God’s covenant blessings can be passed from wayward Israel to a new group of people.
This is Christ’s own support for supersessionism. “There was a master of a house who planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a press for wine in it, built a tower, and leased it to tenants. Then he went to another country.” He despatched his slaves to the tenants to retrieve his fruit when the fruit season was coming up.
The tenants took his slaves and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. Finally, he sent his son to them and said, “They will respect my son.” But when the tenants saw the son, they thought to themselves, “This is the heir.” “Come on, let’s kill him and take his inheritance.” They carried him out of the vineyard and killed him.
So what will the owner of the vineyard do to the tenants when he comes? “He will kill those poor souls in a horrible way and rent the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”
“I tell you this: the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who are making its fruits.”
— Matthew 21:43
What This Means
Israel is the vineyard. The tenants are the Jewish religious leaders. The prophets are the servants. The son is Jesus. The “other tenants” are the Church, which is a new group of individuals who will bring about the kingdom’s fruits. Jesus clearly says that the kingdom will be “taken away” and “given to” a another group of people. Christ himself said this is supersessionism.
ARE CHRISTIAN'S STILL LOYAL TO JESUS?

The name of our radio station says it all. If it’s not “southern,” well… we’ll pray for you. If it’s not “gospel,” that brain connected to your ears is looking for some relief. If it’s not “music radio,” then you were probably born a few decades after us. Even so, we’re glad you’re here!
