Southern Baptist leaders are speaking out in the wake of an investigative report of sexual abuse within their conservative Protestant denomination

The Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News scoured police blotters and local news stories trying to gauge the scope of sexual abuse within the Southern Baptist Convention. What they found is that over the last 20 years, roughly 380 Southern Baptist church leaders and volunteers have faced allegations of sexual misconduct – leaving behind more than 700 victims. The gravity of the findings doesn’t seem lost on Southern Baptist leaders who are responding to the report. SBC President J.D. Greear calls the report “a warning sent from God, calling the church to repent.” Russell Moore of the denomination’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission calls it “a scandal crying out to heaven.” Making matters even worse, victims and advocates asked the SBC in the summer of 2008 – just as the Catholic priest abuse scandal was publicly metastasizing – to put together an offender database to at least keep those credibly

Catholic dioceses in Texas name 286 priests credibly accused of child sexual abuse

HNewsWire-In a statement earlier this week the Pope claims priest have more power than Jesus, I guess that explains why a large majority of priest are pedophiles.These Catholic Priest actually believe there more powerful than God… Altogether, 14 state dioceses, including Dallas and Austin, released one of the largest collection of names since the Pennsylvania grand jury report last July. The diocese in Fort Worth began listing credibly accused clergy online in 2007, but the other 14 Texas bishops promised to release names after a meeting last September.  Texas bishops listed the names to help victims heal and rebuild trust, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese said. He apologized in a statement and urged people to report any abuse. Names of credibly accused Texas Catholic priests can be read on the diocese websites below:  Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston listed 40 priests since 1950.  Archdiocese of San Antonio listed 53 priests since 1941.
