Advisory: The editorial board of HNewsWire adopted the official policy to bypass many social media platforms. Some of these include: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Parler, and YouTube. We believe these companies are responsible for many of the spiritual ills our world faces today. In some cases, however, we have allowed our guest contributors to include content from their YouTube channel while we search for alternatives.
HNewsWire-I want to make anyone ashamed of using that term, “social justice
It’s disheartening to say that so many bible teachers have been led astray, and are leading astray so many to the social gospel heresy. This is a pure adulteration of what the gospel is. Paul clearly states that if anyone, be it an angel from Heaven or any man on Earth, preaches another gospel, they are accursed.
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one, we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
A Baptist church that was ousted from the Texas Baptist Association in 2016 for its pro-sodomy stance will begin a new teaching series on exploring “perspectives and hang-ups about sex, relationships, and finding a better way forward.”
Jared Slack, a pastor at First Baptist Church of Austin is holding a six-week series on a book called See Me Naked. The book promotes a sexually deviant lifestyle which it teaches that “dogmatic” rules about sexual ethics in the church can cause harm to one’s identity.
With more and more churches succumbing to the sexual revolution in our culture, true believers will become all the more despised–even by many of those who profess Christ. The fact is, sexual immorality and Christianity cannot co-exist. Paul is very clear when he stated, “Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)”
February 23 marks the date for a special session of the General Assembly of the United Methodist Church, a gathering of denominational leaders, bishops, and clergy to deliberate the issue of homosexuality and other sexual perversions present in the church.
A Council of Bishops was asked by the General Assembly in 2016 to begin putting together an LGBTQ inclusion plan for the denomination and in 2018, the One Church Plan was unveiled and has the majority support of the denomination’s bishops. Next month, the plan will officially be voted on and is expected to pass nearly unanimously.
It’s no secret that the United Methodist Church has been apostate for years. They do not stand on the Scriptures as their authority nor do they hold to an orthodox view of Christ–to them God is a sin-affirming God who accepts people just how they are without repentance.
However, officially, the United Methodist Church currently does not allow the ordination of openly LGBTQ clergy–but that appears to be about to change.
The one church plan, touted as “supported by the majority of bishops,” includes several key affirmations of homosexuality and other sexually deviant behaviors as acceptable and normal within the church. According to the website,
This pastor is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Todd White told his followers at Awaken the Dawn that he’ll be judged for the words he speaks on the microphone. Despite his claim to knowing that, he promised everyone that they’d be healed of any sexually transmitted disease they may have.
Todd White has been going around telling people that everyone he prays for is getting healed. That’s easily debunked here.
Two Kinds of Doctrine
Doctrines can be categorized in many different ways. Theologians arrange them systematically, thematically, biblically, and historically, to name just a few. Each of these arrangements presents a distinct way to collect and summarize what Christians believe to be true. From such summaries, we have derived some complicated terms like prolegomena, pneumatology, hamartiology, and soteriology.
Yet doctrine can also be categorized in the simplest terms: It is either true or false. To determine if a doctrine is true or false in its content, we can use biblical terminology to ask several questions. In origin, is it from God the Creator or from God’s creation? In authority, is it biblical or unbiblical? In consistency, is it familiar or unfamiliar? In quality, is it sound or unsound? In benefit, is it healthy or unhealthy? In value, is it profitable or unprofitable? When we have properly evaluated the doctrine, we ascertain our responsibility toward it: we must either hold to it or reject it.
Perhaps it is helpful to lay this out in a table:
These churches are failing is simply that they are not real churches. They are Sunday morning entertainment venues. Source
True doctrine (content) originates with God (origin), comes from the Bible (authority), and agrees with the whole of Scripture (consistency). Because such doctrine is sound (quality), it is healthy (benefit), and profitable (value) for us, and we are responsible for holding it (responsibility).
False doctrine (content) originates with man (origin), does not come from the Bible (authority), and contradicts portions of Scripture (consistency). Because such doctrine is unsound (quality), it is unhealthy (benefit) and unprofitable (value) for us, and we are responsible for rejecting it (responsibility).*
The Christian’s responsibility is clear: We are to learn God’s truth by searching God’s Word. We must carefully evaluate every teaching according to God’s unfailing standard. What passes the test is sound doctrine, and what fails the test is false doctrine.
Kenneth Copeland is a popular charismatic preacher that makes outrageous claims, such as being able to talk to tornadoes and rebuke them. A protégé of Kenneth Hagin, who claims Jesus appeared to him and told him about all the “wicked spirits” driving the leaders in this world, now claims he has a revelation from God telling him to put a stop to it–to command those “wicked spirits” away.
We are going to now speak to the spirit of strife over this nation. It is stopping! It is stopping! I am commanding it to stop! And I have an unction on me about this. I just sense that it’s the word of the Lord Himself that is pointing His finger and saying, “Stop it right now! Stop this business right now!”
In the Name of Jesus we speak to the spirit of strife in Jesus’ Name. I command you to stop it right now! You stop this! I command you in the Name above every name. You stop this fighting! You stop this bickering! And you get focused on the deliverance of this nation. You get focused on the new birth of this nation. You get focused on the outpouring of the Holy Spirit over this nation, and you stop it right now. The division between the Democratic Party, the Republican Party and within the Republican Party, I say, “Stop in the Name of Jesus!”
Of course, these charismatics have been commanding these wicked spirits to go away “in Jesus’ name” for decades. Apparently, whatever “Jesus” they’re summoning isn’t making it happen. This world is still wicked, men still rebel against God, and it’s getting worse.
These are just a few examples of the attack on the Church, the world has taken over, pastors are more concerned about being popular than preaching a full Gospel sermon.
“It is better to be divided by truth than to be united in error. It is better to speak the truth that hurts and then heals, than falsehood that comforts and then kills. Let me tell you something, friend, it is not love and it is not friendship if we fail to declare the whole counsel of God. It is better to be hated for telling the truth, than to be loved for telling a lie. It is impossible to find anyone in the Bible who was a power for God who did not have enemies and was not hated. It’s better to stand alone with the truth, then to be wrong with a multitude. It is better to ultimately succeed with the truth than to temporarily succeed with a lie. There is only one Gospel and Paul said, ‘If any man preaches any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
