Consider God’s promise to Believers in James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

Featured Story

The command to touch not God’s anointed is found in two places in Scripture: “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm” (1 Chronicle 16:22Psalm 105:15). These passages are sometimes used in Pentecostal and Charismatic circles to defend certain preachers from criticism. Preachers who promote themselves or their ministries as “anointed” warn their would-be critics, “Do not touch God’s anointed!” Of course, this helps to insulate them from scrutiny and allows them to spread falsehood and bad theology unrestrained.

Others take God’s command “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm” to mean that Christians are promised protection from all bad things.

Both of the above interpretations of “Do not touch my anointed ones” ignore the context of the passages in question. The “anointed ones” in these passages are not modern-day Pentecostal preachers. And the Bible never promises that God’s prophets, anointed ones, children, or other faithful believers will never suffer harm from evil people. As Jesus explained to the Pharisees, “God in his wisdom said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute’” (Luke 11:49).

Here is the context of 1 Chronicles 16:22: David is publicly praising God by giving a condensed review of the miraculous history of Israel. He cites some of the miracles God performed to fulfill His promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (1 Chronicle 16:15–18, referencing Genesis 50:24 and Exodus 2:24). Through these miracles, God created a nation of Abraham’s descendants that would bless the entire world (see Genesis 12:1–3). No one and nothing could prevent God’s promise from being fulfilled, even against all odds. Source

God will no longer allow people to misquote who you are, or to mislabel your identity.  [I am] yet feasting on that Word last night that was spoken at an Affirmation Installation [.redacted.].

My God, the revelation of that downloaded word, yet has me in awe.  To realize that God placed David in a position where He had to minister deliverance to His leading and to fight and protect the one who wanted to kill him.

David covered Saul and refused to let even those who followed him, touch or disrespect him, because he knew that Saul was the key to his destiny.  He would not allow anything or anyone to disrupt the will or timing of God.  In fact, David didn’t flaunt in Saul face that God had chosen him over him, he just continued to let the will of God flow in the situation.

David would not harm Saul, even when Saul was trying to harm him because he understood that God yet was in control and Saul was yet in a position of authority so he abided in the law of God, that said, touch not His anointed,  (1 Chronicles 16:22).

People in this hour have no fear of touching God’s anointed.  They will cuss them out, disrespect them before people, try to destroy them, and discredit them, and if they had done anything to them, would kill them.

This Word had me up pondering all night.  David didn’t retaliate against Saul.  In fact, he killed the one who came to him bragging that he had killed Saul because he touched God’s anointed.

David only fought when God told him it was time for him to take his position, and God gave him permission and authority to fight against His anointed.  Sometimes people think because someone doesn’t rise up against them, that they are fearful or intimidated by them.  They don’t realize that they are waiting on God to release them to fight.  They know that if they move before God that they will be fighting against God.

People, don’t let your emotions provoke you to destroy a situation before time.  It may cost you your destiny or cause a delay in your purpose coming forth.

The story of David and Saul is a prime example of humility respect order obedience and submission.

NOW, THIS ONE REVELATION IS REAL DEEP:  Many leaders like Saul get upset when those that are called to serve them are promoted by God to rule over them.  Understand that Saul had begun to walk contrary to God instructions and commands and his disobedience demoted him.  When leaders get out of order God will place a David the one that is their replacement next to them to prepare them to walk in an assignment that has not been completed.

NOW LET ME CLARIFY FOR THESE OVER ZEALOUS ONES:  This is not every case.  This only happens because Saul got out of order and begin to override the will and ways of God. This is not for every relationship in the Kingdom of God.

And remember, PROMOTION COMES FROM THE LORD.  He sets down one and elevates another.  It’s not in man’s hand even though they try.  When God promotes you it will be in His timing and not at your own hands.  David had been anointed king but God kept Saul on the throne until He had finish processing David.Source
