WHY BELIEVING YOU MUST KEEP THE LAW MEANS YOU ARE SHUT UP FROM A SAVING FAITH- Gal.3:23-26

By Edward O’Hara , As I have said many times before. If you are defining sin by what the law says you are in the wrong covenant. The reason this is so very important for we who profess to believe in Jesus is that being in the wrong covenant keeps us from knowing Him and having the eternal life that is only made possible by knowing Him. This is why Paul said in Gal.3:23 while Israel was under the law they were “shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.” A faith that Paul says in Rom.10:17 “comes by hearing. And hearing by the word of God.” To show that faith for eternal life is only found in the New Covenant. And could not be found in the Old. Which is why we see that those in the…

By Edward O’Hara, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU- LUKE17:20,21

By Edward O’Hara. Jesus said “The kingdom of God is within you” to a people who were expecting a messiah to come who would deliver to them a physical kingdom after conquering their enemies. But, these expected a natural kingdom to be theirs by the hand of a judge/deliverer just as the judges like Samson, Moses, and others had in olden times. But, the kingdom Jesus spoke of was one that delivered them from the natural men they were from the time Adam was made, to spiritual men for which Jesus came to make all men. From an inheritance through flesh and blood by a water birth from their mother’s womb. To an inheritance through spiritual birth that made them children of God and heirs to His eternal and spiritual kingdom in heaven. Both are literal kingdoms. And the Jew…

THE WORKS RIGHTEOUSNESS OF MORAL GOV’T THEOLOGY- THE INIQUITY THAT MAKES JESUS SAY “I NEVER KNEW YOU”

Edward

Iniquity. What is it when Jesus uses it in Mt.7:21-23 saying “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”   If we will consider the context as we must in everything we read in scripture we will see that Jesus is not referring to immorality here. Because these people are doing good things like casting out devils and prophesying. And they believe they are doing these morally good…

LIFE OR DEATH AS JESUS REVEALED THEM IN THE 2 RESURRECTIONS- JOHN5:28,29

By Edward O’Hara It’s hard to put into words just how much God loves us. The Holy Spirit tells us through the apostle John that the greatest love is when a man lays down his life for his friend. Citing Jesus’ example when He gave His life willingly for every man. As Dan.9:26 tells us He would. And when He did this He knew He had to because it was the only way He could conquer death. Even though the thought of what He would suffer was so excruciating that He sought the Father asking if there was any other way to do what must be done to save mankind apart from His having to suffer and die. But, knowing the Father’s will Jesus submitted to Him for the sake of mankind. God is so willing that everyone who has…

IF SAVED BY GRACE IT CAN NOT BE BY WORKS!- Rom.11

As in all of Paul’s letters, here too he is emphasizing that salvation is by grace and not by works. Doing so because the flesh naturally gravitates toward works when trying to attain anything. So the problem with the flesh is that it works to attain what it wants. And not that it is evil in and of itself as so many falsely proclaim. And this works oriented nature is why Paul says in Rom.8 the flesh is at enmity with the spirit. And why in Rom.9 Paul cites where God said Jacob have I loved but Esau have I hated to illustrate this enmity. So in vs.1 what causes Paul to ask whether God has forsaken Israel in the first few verses of this chapter? It is because he is following up on what he said in ch 10.…

Old Testament Sin- Was it just covered? Or was Israel sanctified and forgiven? Lev.4:35

By Edward O’Hara: There are many who teach that sins were not forgiven under the law, but only covered. Is this true? And what would make someone teach that it was only covered if the Bible says it was forgiven? In Lev.4:32-35 we read how sin was dealt with through the sacrifices under the law. It reads, “32 And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish. 33 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering. 34 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the…

Edward O’Hara: WOLVES IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING; QUESTIONS WE MUST ASK- 2Cor.5:19

By Edward O’Hara, The idea of questioning long held political and religious beliefs is happening now more than at any other time in history. The question is, is this a good method to use for finding truth? My answer to that is, what other way is there? Not in a hateful or rebellious way. But, in an inquiring way. Because we have to question things to know whether they are true. Especially the things we may have come to believe are true before we came to trust in Jesus. This is why Paul says we need to renew our minds in Rom.12:1,2. And in this endeavor I have found the Bible to be 100% accurate 100% of the time. In all areas of study, everything the Bible says has so far for me proven itself to be absolutely and unequivocally…

EDWARD O’HARA: THE FAITH THAT COMES BY HEARING IS RIGHTEOUSNESS- ROM.10

aith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. What does this mean to you? When I hear these words it means that as we hear the message of the gospel and we are made aware of a choice we need to make. And when we make the free will choice to believe the gospel we are given the gift of faith. And now having this gift it gives us the ability to grow into the man or woman of God God wants us to be. If we will continue hearing God’s word. This growth happens when we go from saying yes to the gospel message when we first heard it. To continuing to hear God’s word. Because by this God builds into us a frame of reference by which we can understand more and more of His…

HOW IS THE LAW SPIRITUAL? AND WHO IS CARNAL, SOLD UNDER SIN? FIND OUT IN THIS STUDY OF ROM.7:14

By Edward O’Hara, Many people have difficulty understanding how the law is both spiritual and temporal. In this study we will see why this is true. And how this spiritual law is a ministration of death and condemnation. A “spiritual law” that can never give life. Rom.7- 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. To understand this passage correctly is to recognize first and foremost the context in which it is written. This is discovered by reading what was said before, that led up to this. We see this when we read Paul using “For” at the beginning of each of these statements. For having the meaning…

PERILOUS TIMES! WHEN THEY DENY THE POWER OF GOD–2Tim.3:1-5

Free from sin Is that even possible? Is there any scriptural basis for freedom from sin? Especially right now? While we are in these bodies? And what if we reject this? Does the scripture describe such a person? I contend that it does. And when it does it makes it abundantly clear that it is what causes the perilous times that Paul prophesied were to come when men become “lovers of selves more than lovers of God”. Here’s what Paul said about this in 2Tim.3, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of…
