Watchman: Daily Devotional, “The Bible Says That God Laughs at the Wicked. And Right Now, He’s in Full Control.”

Daily Devotional: Remember what the Lord said to Job. “Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? Let him who accuses God answer Him!” (Job 40:1) How will the mockers answer for themselves on Judgment Day? Their laughter will quickly turn to astonishment….and then to hopeless despair when their eternal sentence is handed down. It may appear “unloving” to claim that God laughs at the wicked. Is it any less “unloving” to send the wicked to hell? God’s love is provided to all….but only some accept it. Those who reject the Lord’s kindness and grace face God’s justice. Who are we to challenge the Almighty if He laughs at those who resist Him? God will do anything He wants…whenever He wants. “Woe to him who contends with His Maker.” (Isa. 45:9) Learn More The Great Tribulation It is […]

Watchman: Daily Devotional, As We Grow Into Young Men and Women, We Think We Know It All. It Takes the Rest of Our Lives to Realize We Had It Right When We Were Little Children, Utterly Dependent on Others to Teach and Instruct Us

Daily Devotional: Matthew 18:2-4 (NIV) 2 He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. The disciples had inquired about who was the most powerful in the kingdom of heaven. They most likely anticipated to hear that Moses, Elijah, or another great Old Testament character had died. It must have been stunning for them when Jesus took a child, placed him in their midst, and made him the model. I’m sure the toddler, like the disciples, was speechless. To join the kingdom, Jesus stated they had to become like tiny children. What did we miss out on as […]

Watchman: Daily Devotional, Getting Over Pessimism “Philip” Was One of the Twelve Apostles (Matthew 10:3). Pessimism Blinds You to the Abundance of God’s Riches

Daily Devotional: For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 2 if ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 7 Whereof I was made a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working […]

Watchman: Daily Devotional, John’s Greatest Joy Was to Know That His Spiritual Children Were Walking in the Truth (3 John 4). He Firmly Denounced Anyone Who Attempted to Divert Them From That Goal by Denying or Distorting God’s Word

Daily Devotional: As 1 John 2:5 says, “Whoever keeps [God’s] word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected.” Some imagine John as overly sentimental and egotistical, lying on Jesus’ shoulder and constantly referring to himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved. However, that is not an accurate description of one of the “Sons of Thunder”! He adored Jesus and was astounded that Jesus adored him, especially after he desired to burn the Samaritans and then secure a prominent position in Christ’s kingdom. Calling himself “the disciple whom Jesus loved” (e.g., John 21:20) was simply a way for him to express his gratitude for God’s grace in his life. As much as he adored Jesus, John never allowed his feelings to become sentimental. In fact, his ministry is distinguished by the proper balance of truth and love. We […]

Watchman: Daily Devotional, “Thy Kingdom Come” (Matt. 6:10). The Only Acceptable Response to Christ’s Offer of the Kingdom Is to Receive It, Value It, and Pursue It!

Daily Devotional: Many people who think they’re kingdom citizens will someday be shocked to discover they aren’t. In Matthew 7:21 Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. Many people who think they’re kingdom citizens will someday be shocked to discover they aren’t. In Matthew 7:21 Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” Some people think highly of the kingdom but never receive the King. They call Jesus “Lord” but don’t do His will. Lip service won’t do. You must receive the King and His kingdom (John 1:12). You must also value the kingdom. In Matthew 13:44 Jesus says, “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure.” In verses 45-46 […]

Watchman: Daily Devotional, A Rich Young Man Approached Jesus. He Inquired of Jesus Which Laws Were Necessary to Keep To Enter Into Heaven

Daily Devotional: Matthew 19:24-26 (NIV) 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” 26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” A rich young man approached Jesus. He inquired of Jesus which laws were necessary to keep to enter into heaven. Many Jews believed that if they could narrow down the laws to those most important to God, they would stand a better chance of getting into heaven. Jesus asked the man to sell all he owned, give it to the poor, and follow Him. This came at a time […]

Watchman Daily Devotional: Just What Do You Have? What You Have Now Is All That You Have Been Given. Both Material and Ethereal Blessings Are Bestowed Upon You. What Is Material Will Perish, but What Is Spiritual Will Endure. The Spiritual, Not the Physical, Is What Makes a Difference to a Person’s Character

Luke 8:16-18 16″No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. 18 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him.” What have you got? You can only have what you have. You are given both physical and spiritual gifts. The physical will perish, but the spiritual will live forever. The physical does not transform the soul; it is transformed by the spiritual. How do you receive spiritual things? Typically, it is […]

Daily Devotional: Revelation 9:13-21 (NIV) The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God. It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of the mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number. The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. A third […]

Watchman: Daily Devotional, Peter Had Just Been Commended for His Perception of the Revelation of God That Jesus Is the Messiah. Then Peter Became an Instrument of Satan

Daily Devotional: Matthew 16:21-23 (NIV) 21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. 22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” 23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” According to a study of Jesus’ historical biography, this turning point occurred just before the transfiguration. Three of the disciples would witness Jesus’ glory. Their eyes would corroborate what their hearts had […]

Watchman: Daily Devotional, Reject the Gospel as False. Unbelievers Reject the Good News That All Sinners Can Be Saved Through Faith in Jesus Christ. Atheists Have No Faith Because They Reject the Bible as God’s Inspired and Authoritative Word

Daily Devotional: You will also notice that a major characteristic of nonbelievers is a hatred of the truth and wisdom found in God’s word. Those who reject the Bible’s claims are more likely to embrace the lies of the devil, which cater to their fallen nature, than they are to embrace the truth of God, which is revealed in the Bible. They readily accept the falsehoods of this world, which are unable to provide them with the eternal life their precious souls require. The truth of God’s word is offensive and painful to those who reject God. And Revelation 21:8 says that those who refuse to believe will be tossed in the fiery lake of fire with Satan and his angels. If you don’t believe in Jesus Christ and what He did for you on the cross, you’re already damned […]
