Matthew 18:2-4 (NIV) 2 He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

The disciples had inquired about who was the most powerful in the kingdom of heaven. They most likely anticipated to hear that Moses, Elijah, or another great Old Testament character had died. It must have been stunning for them when Jesus took a child, placed him in their midst, and made him the model. I'm sure the toddler, like the disciples, was speechless.

To join the kingdom, Jesus stated they had to become like tiny children. What did we miss out on as we grew older? In the following sentence, Jesus informs us The humility of a small child qualifies one for greatness. We assume we know everything as we grow into young men and women. It takes the rest of our life to understand we had it right as children, completely reliant on others to teach and instruct us.

This childlike humility was modeled by Jesus. He only did what his father showed him. He made no independent decisions, except those set by the Father. He even relied on God to show him what to say and how to say it. We should become like that young child once we recognize how little we know, how easily we are mislead, and how much we need to rely on the Spirit of God to make any good decisions.

That is why the best leaders are shattered. They are aware of their frailty. The sheep analogy conveys the same lesson. Face it: we are stupid, vulnerable, and incapable of caring for ourselves. When you comprehend this, you have become spiritually poor, and the kingdom of heaven is yours.

Meditation: Being the lowest, not the best, is where greatness lies.

The Great Tribulation

It is our belief that the Great Tribulation referred to in the New Testament Book of Revelation (chapters 6-11) is unfolding before our eyes. In the near future, we will devote the "Tribulation" tab on our "Trending" menu to this emerging reality. As people continue to unplug from mainstream media, our commitment is to present the truth and encourage our audience to understand current events from a Biblical perspective. The Watchman

In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand."
