Even Though the World Persecutes Us, We Are Confident That He Will Return. He Will Return to This Earth in Glory, Just as He Did to Them as Needed

John 16:31-33 31″You believe at last!” Jesus answered. 32″But a time is coming, and has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me. 33″I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” The analogies used by Jesus were difficult for the disciples to grasp. They were struggling with His expression during His final evening with them, “In a little while you will see me no more, and then in a little while you will see me.” Then Jesus told them He would no longer use figures of speech and that He would return to the Father. They finally believed. Yes,…

Watchman: Daily Devotional, Your Fruitfulness Is Absolutely Related to Your Understanding of Divine Truth. “Bearing Fruit in Every Good Work and Growing in God’s Knowledge” (Col. 1:10)

Your Fruitfulness Is Directly Related to Your Knowledge of Divine Truth. Every farmer who enjoys a bountiful harvest does so only after a lot of hard work. He must cultivate the soil, plant the seed, and care for it till it matures. Each step is deliberate, disciplined, and systematic. Similarly, bearing spiritual fruit is not a spontaneous or unplanned process. It necessitates our diligence in obtaining knowledge of God’s will as revealed in His Word. It is the prayer of Paul in Colossians 1:9, which he repeats in verse 10. The phrase “growing in God’s understanding” (v. 10) might be rendered as “increasing by God’s knowledge.” Both versions are acceptable. The first emphasizes the urge to grow, whereas the second highlights the need of knowledge in spiritual progress. The Holy Spirit renews your mind and modifies your thinking as your…

Thomas Wasn’t With the Disciples the First Time Jesus Appeared to Them. Even After Hearing the Others’ Testimony, He Refused to Believe. He Told Them, Unless I See the Nail Marks in His Hands and Put My Finger Where the Nails Were, and Put My Hand Into His Side, I Will Not Believe It

John 20:27-29 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” When Jesus initially appeared to the disciples, Thomas wasn’t present. He refused to believe even after hearing the other witnesses’ evidence. They were instructed by him, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands, put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it.” John 20:25 Why was Thomas acting strangely? I believe the problem with the disciples before to the appearance of Jesus was the same. He didn’t…

Watchman: Daily Devotional, Sheep Need a Shepherd. They Cannot Survive on Their Own. They Need Someone to Guide Them to Pasture, Water, and to Protect Them From Predators

Daily Devotional: Matthew 18:12-14 (NIV) 12″ What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost. We frequently divorce this parable from children. Jesus was preaching about how valuable children are to God. He was giving an illustration that everyone in the audience understood. Sheep require a shepherd. They are unable to survive on their own. They require someone to lead them to pasture and water,…

UNDERSTANDING GENESIS: GOD SAID IT WAS VERY GOOD; GOD WAS SAYING IT WAS EXACTLY AS HE INTENDED IT TO BE

What so many have been deceived to believe is a behavioral problem for mankind, is actually a spiritual problem. Because what people do is not what keeps them from heaven and eternal life. It’s what and in whom they believe that does. The fact that man was created natural and not spiritual is the issue. And this issue can only be remedied when we are made spiritual. In this message I will show you that it is because Adam was made a natural man, not a spiritual one that created man’s need for Jesus. Because only in this way could God’s plan that men would choose to love Him in return for His love by their own God given free will fill their need for Jesus. This is why God made man in such a way that it would not…

Heartwarming: Shopper Snaps Photo As Walmart Employee Fulfills Man’s “Request”

HNewsWire: While shopping at Walmart, a man walked up to a female employee with a request. She immediately took the man’s arm and led him down an empty aisle, not realizing another shopper was following them. When the stunned shopper saw what the pair was doing, she pulled out her phone and quickly snapped a photo. Brittany Walton (Photo Credit: Facebook) Brittany Walton was busy doing her job behind the customer service counter at a Walmart Supercenter when she was interrupted by another associate. When Walton was told a man needed some help with his shopping, she didn’t hesitate to leave her post. As soon as she heard the man was blind, she knew what she was going to do, never imagining she would catch someone’s attention, let alone be caught in a photograph that captured what she did. UNRIGHTEOUSNESS- DOES THIS MEAN YOU ARE BAD? Those who try to attain heaven by works, by someone’s works, by anyone’s works, are unrighteous every bit as much as those whose behavior contradicts God’s love. Believing that righteousness of works is the righteousness that God requires for them to be accepted in His kingdom. The unrighteous appeal to God for something that can not save them. They ask, “Please make me good enough to be accepted into your kingdom”. Men like Ray Comfort and other so called street preachers that preach this way of salvation every time they tell people about their Jesus have completely missed the mark. This is the false gospel in a nutshell that Paul said in Gal.1 those who believe and teach it are “accursed”. Because being good or bad has nothing to do with why men…

WHY THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU The kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus made this clear when He said, “If this were my kingdom then would my servants fight for me.” John18:36. This is why in Eph.6:12 Paul said “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The arena we fight in is a spiritual one. Not a natural one. So, when Jesus said “the kingdom of God is within you”, it was relative to the new spirit birthed in us that He came to provide for mankind. Through the New Testament that Heb.9:15 says was given power through His death and resurrection. And not the natural world around us. Before Jesus came the kingdom of…

BEING FAITHFUL TO GOD’S NARRATIVE- 1Cor.1:23-31

Jesus said we must be careful what we hear. Because what we hear will be measured back to us. It will be multiplied in our hearts and consume us. Are you in fear because of the things you are seeing coming upon the earth? Or do you live in the narrative God has given to His children of “greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world”? It seems that each day’s new head line becomes the narrative that replaces what should be for the christian an endless sharing of the gospel message with a lost and dying world. Paul answered this question for himself and every believer in 1Cor.1:23 where relating to the wisdom of this world from which it’s narrative comes he said, “But we preach Christ crucified.” Adding that “unto the…
