“This Body Of Death”

Since the Bible says that God was in Christ not holding men’s trespasses against them (2Cor.5:19), what does it mean to be saved? Saved from what? I mean, if Paul’s doctrine shows that the paradigm that calls for a person to admit they are bad and need Jesus to make them good enough for God to accept them, that the harlot RCC and her daughter evangelical protestants teach isn’t true, then what is? Let’s appeal to Paul’s doctrine for the answer to this all-important question. 
In Rom.7 Paul asks the question that hits at the heart of man’s need for salvation saying, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Do you know why Paul refers to the body in this way? The answer is really quite obvious. In fact, it is in the words “body of this death”. But, because so many have been deceived to believe the naughty/nice Santa Claus religious paradigm the harlot Roman Catholic and her evangelical protestant daughters espouse, they can’t see what Paul was really saying. Even when he so plainly says exactly what he means. 

In the context of Rom.7 when Paul writes about the wretched man he is referring to the Israelites dependency on the law for righteousness (Rom.7:1-4) that he uses to illuminate the problem of “the body of this death” that all mankind, and not just Israelites, must deal with. Because in the overarching message of salvation in the whole of the scriptures “the body of this death” is a reference to Adam and the rest of mankind no longer being allowed to eat from the tree of life. Because it was this that brought the reign of death over all creation which includes man’s physical body. Because man’s being able to live forever changed when he could no longer eat from it. It made man mortal. 

Not that he was immortal before he ate the fruit. Because Gen.3:22 plainly shows he was not. Because this verse says that he was only able to live forever as long as he could eat from the tree of life. And that now because God would no longer allow him to eat from it he began to die.

Being mortal is a body that is subject to death(Heb.2:14-18). Now do you understand why Paul referred to the body in Rom.7:24 as “this body of death”? He did so because that’s exactly what it is, and good or bad behavior has nothing to do with it. And how can you see why we still need Jesus even if one has kept all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless as Luke says Zachariah and Elizabeth did in Luke1:5,6? And can you now see why we still need Jesus for deliverance even if God does not hold us accountable for any bad things we might do as Paul says He doesn’t in 2Cor.5:19? It is because only by knowing Him that we have eternal life. Because Jesus said knowing Him is eternal life (John17:3). Because when we know Him He imparts His immortality to us. 1Cor.15:45-50. 

So our need for Jesus has nothing to do with guilt for bad behavior because guilt is a tool of Satan to keep us in bondage to him as Heb.2:14,15 says- “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”. 
This is why our need for Jesus has only to do with needing deliverance from “the body of this death” just as Paul said. And this deliverance only comes when we believe in Jesus as Lord and believe He has raised from the dead. Rom.10:9,10.

If you are reading this God is calling you. He loves you and wants you to know Him. Because knowing Him is eternal life.John17:3. So if you do not know Him please take the time right now to pray and confess Jesus as Lord of your life. And believe that He has raised from the dead. In doing this and really meaning it you will be saved from “the body of this death”. Saved from death to life. From sin to righteousness. And from the wrath to peace with God. Because when you trust in Jesus you leave the old life behind where you were only equipped to trust in idols. And now trust in Jesus who alone can equip you for heaven because He is the only WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.
