The golf outing wasn’t listed on Trump’s public agenda and was a spur-of-the-moment choice, raising eyebrows about how Routh managed to get so close to Trump, just 500 yards away, knowing he’d be there.

During an appearance on Fox News last night, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was questioned about the federal government’s cooperation with his independent probe into the attempted shooting, and his response was clear-cut.

“No, they’re not cooperating,” DeSantis stated firmly, expressing his worry that crucial information was being withheld.

“Our investigators faced resistance even when trying to approach the fence line at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach,” he continued, accusing federal authorities of wanting to keep Florida out of the loop entirely.

The Governor emphasized that the suspect’s “multiple violations of Florida law across various jurisdictions” created an obligation for state officials to investigate, file charges, and keep the public informed about the incident.

DeSantis expressed skepticism about any change in the federal stance, noting, “We haven’t received much of a positive response.”

When directly asked about the alleged shooter, DeSantis found it odd that federal officials quickly claimed ignorance regarding the motives of Ryan Routh or Thomas Crooks, especially since Routh’s social media clearly hinted at a political agenda.

“As soon as we learned of this on Sunday, I instructed our state law enforcement to preserve all his social media because Facebook tends to erase it… we need to track his digital footprint, understand how he ended up in Florida, and what led him to those bushes with the intent to assassinate the former president and current Republican nominee. How did this unfold?” the Governor questioned.

DeSantis noted that the public still lacks crucial information.
