More than 800 days following its approval, the FDA has released the final batch of documents it relied upon for licensing Pfizer’s Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine for ages 16 and older. The Informed Consent Action Network, in a press release, announced that these documents are now accessible to the public, enabling independent scientists and researchers to review the FDA’s decision-making process regarding the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness.
The newly disclosed documents, part of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the FDA, reveal that the agency was aware of its insufficient safety monitoring system for evaluating the risk of heart conditions linked to Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. An FDA memo specifically addressed concerns about the FDA’s CBER Sentinel Initiative’s capability to evaluate risks of myocarditis and pericarditis………“
