HNewsWire:

A Roman soldier would frequently engage in hand-to-hand combat with his opponent. At the time, his preferred weapon was the short sword, which he used to puncture his opponent's critical organs. He wore a sculpted metal armor that spanned from the base of his neck to the top of his thighs for his own protection. It aided in deflecting any attacks on his heart and abdomen.

The Roman breastplate has enormous symbolism in Paul's simile since the heart symbolized man's mind and reasoning processes to the Jewish people, while the intestinal area or bowels signified the seat of sentiments and emotions. According to Proverbs 23:7, "as [a man] thinketh in his heart, so is he" (KJV). Jeremiah 17:9 goes on to state, "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?" "From within, out of men's hearts, proceed evil thoughts," Jesus remarked (Mark 7:21).

Satan's principal attacks during spiritual warfare are directed at your thoughts and emotions. He has achieved a big triumph if he can mold you to think and feel contrary to God's truth. As a result, Satan tries to flood your mind with lies, immorality, erroneous teaching, and half-truths. By surrounding you with evil forces that raise your tolerance for immorality, he attempts to blur the boundary between righteousness and sin. He disguises offensive evil in the blinding cloak of amusement. He sets it to music and disguises it as humor in order to confuse and dull your spiritual sensibilities. Satan's goal is to pervert your emotions and entice you to evil desires.

Wearing the breastplate of righteousness begins with a healthy connection with God, the source of true righteousness. The commitment to establish holiness in your own life by understanding and applying His Word stems from that relationship. Therein lies the security you require to defend your mind and emotions against diabolical deceptions.

The Great Tribulation

It is our belief that the Great Tribulation referred to in the New Testament Book of Revelation (chapters 6-11) is unfolding before our eyes. In the near future, we will devote the "Tribulation" tab on our "Trending" menu to this emerging reality. As people continue to unplug from mainstream media, our commitment is to present the truth and encourage our audience to understand current events from a Biblical perspective. The Watchman

In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand."
