Watchman’s Daily Devotional: There Is Right And Wrong. There Is Good And Evil. The Culture’s Denial Of Reality Is A Symptom Of Its Godless Condition

4/10 John 7:24 24 “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” “Judge not, that you not be judged” (Matthew 7:1) is a Bible verse that people love to quote today. The point of that part of the Sermon on the Mount is that we will be judged by the same standards we use for other people. It’s not what Jesus says that we should accept sin or that truth is subjective. There is an underlying right and wrong in that sentence that a lot of people love to quote. It’s unfair to blame other people for things you yourself have done wrong. When you focus on other people’s flaws instead of your own, you are wrong. In the reading for today, Jesus tells us to judge things, but not just by how they look. To make a […]

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: A Little Bit of God in Your Life Is Likely to Take Over Your Whole Life…

Incorporating an element of the God into your life can profoundly transform your entire existence… When you truly surrender to God in one aspect of your life, you’ll discover the necessity for His presence to permeate every facet. Many individuals desire His presence in every aspect of their lives, except when it comes to their finances, yet it’s important to remember that finances are guided by the heart. When God holds a piece of your heart, true peace eludes you until He possesses it entirely. Your finances will become His too. This parable unfolds in families time and again. A single individual transforms and starts to embrace a vibrant new way of living. In no time, the entire family embraces Jesus. When it occurs within a church or community, it is referred to as revival. While not everyone may embrace

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: I Might Not Have Tomorrow, Even if Jesus Returns in a Century. According to Luke 2:49, I Must Be Attending to My Father’s Business.

This verse appears in the context of Paul’s exhortation to believers who were expecting the Lord’s return. Paul had taught them that the world would be caught off guard, but believers would be prepared. That is because we are the children of today. We stroll through the light. The world longs for the night, where obscurity conceals their evil. The darkness keeps them from seeing what’s approaching. Because the Lord will return and summon His people to join Him, we should live in anticipation of that day. We should treat each day as if it were our last. We want to be about the Lord’s business when He comes back for us. We surely do not want to find ourselves compromising in sin when the time comes. That is why Paul urged the Thessalonian church to be sober. That entails

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: Jesus Did Not Come to Deliver Us from the Oppression of Man. He Came to Deliver Us from the Enslavement of Sin and Pending Judgment.

Luke 2:11 11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” The heavenly messenger delivered these sacred words to the shepherds tending their flocks in the fields of Bethlehem.. These shepherds might have been caring for sheep that were destined for sacred offerings in the nearby temple of Jerusalem. The messenger could have been conveying to them the need to seek a new path in their work. To you is given the precious gift of the Lamb of God! The phrase “In the city of David” evokes the profound promise of a Savior emerging from the lineage of David. He is our Redeemer, yet His purpose was not to free us from the burdens imposed by humanity. He arrived to free us from the bondage of sin and the

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: We Shouldn’t Be Wondering Why God Doesn’t Use Us More As His Agents in the World. Instead, We Should Be Wondering Why We Haven’t Given Him More of Our Thoughts and Deeds

How can you know what God wants? What does it mean to say that God wants something for your life? It’s here. Are you ready? This is what God wants, for you to be made holy. That means to be holy, which means to set aside for God. Paul explains in the next few lines that he is talking about having control over our bodies and not giving in to lust. It was just as sexually wicked and promiscuous in Paul’s time as it is now. People who turned to Christ had to stay away from the neighborhood temples and change how they behaved. They could feel temptation everywhere. There were times when new Christians wanted to use other people for their own pleasure, even in church. John 4:5–6 says Paul warns those who do this that the Lord will

Watchman’s Daily Devotional:

Matthew 20:30 30And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” When the two blind men heard that Jesus was walking by, they sat down by the roadside and cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” Amazing! A popular eye salve was made in Jericho. It appears that these two men were not finding success with it. They were most likely groveling by the roadside. When they heard that Jesus was on his way, they cried out for forgiveness. Their title for Him was “Lord.” Either God or a prominent person could be meant by the term. Furthermore, they address Him as “Son of David.” For the Messiah, that is the word. They put their

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: Only When the Branch of David, Jesus Christ, Reigns in Jerusalem Will There Truly Be Justice and Righteousness

Much like the prophecies found within the sacred texts, the restoration of the nation experienced an immediate realization at the conclusion of the 70 years of exile, alongside a profound fulfillment that resonates in our present time. The Jewish people have returned to their homeland from every corner of the world. Today’s passage reflects on the future reign of Jesus, who will sit on the throne of David during the millennial kingdom, a time that awaits us. It is only through the reign of the Branch of David, Jesus Christ, in Jerusalem that we will witness the fullness of justice and righteousness. He will come again during a time of great distress, bringing salvation to His people in their hour of need. From that moment onward, Jerusalem shall find its peace and safety. As the Millennium draws to a close,

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: A Multitude Of Individuals Yearn For A Revelation, Seeking To Distinctly Hear The Voice Of God. Few Will Consistently Dedicate The Time And Effort To Engage With The Word And In Prayer. How About You?

What Moses and Elijah discussed with Jesus remains a mystery. The fact that they spoke of Jesus’ departure in Jerusalem is unique to Luke’s gospel, nevertheless. His death could also be implied by this term. So far, that has been our sole indicator of the nature of their conversation. After then, Jesus started telling His disciples that He was going to die soon (Luke 9:44). According to Luke 2:40, Jesus grew wise even as a youngster. For everything that God accomplished via Him, he brought glory to God (John 14:10). According to John 5:19, He only carried out the Father’s will. Despite combining divine and human natures, Jesus nevertheless needed the help of the Holy Spirit. After becoming one with the Father in the womb of Mary, theologians wonder what else Jesus did not take with Him (Philippians 2:7). The

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: Just as a City Wall Could Be Entered Through a Breach, Making It Vulnerable to Enemies, So Our Spiritual Walls Can Have Dangerous Breaches

As a city wall can be breached by foes, so can our spiritual defenses. Today’s verse made me ponder why God didn’t consider Jeremiah and Ezekiel spiritual bridges. That wasn’t their job. They were termed proclaimers, not repairers. They told folks what was coming and why. What would a breacher look like? King Hezekiah and Josiah converted the people from paganism to the one true God, delaying judgment. They led the nation to follow the prophets and widen the gap. God declared there was no leader to turn the people. No one in David’s house was bold enough to spearhead a return to God against the culture. God wants a leader wherever you dwell. Hearing their vision and seeing their causes will identify them. Nationwide repercussions will be seen. Pray for the leader. You can encourage them or write a

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: We Experience the Blessings of God and the Spiritual Food and Drink From His Word, but Then We Look to Politicians to Save Us, or Financial Diversification, or Any Number of Things. God Alone Can Save Us. When We Put Our Faith in Anything or Anyone Else, We Become Just Like Israel at the Border of the Promised Land, Trusting in Ourselves

The Corinthians were being warned by Paul not to get comfortable in their walk with the Lord. He used Israel in the desert many years ago to show how people can see the Lord at work and be blessed by Him every day, but still live in a way that makes Him angry. Going through the Red Sea was like being baptized. For some reason, the water seemed to come from the Rock, which Paul says was Christ with them. But when the test came, they showed that they didn’t believe in God at all. The Israelites worshiped other gods, even though they had all of God’s gifts and thought of themselves as God’s children. They had idols from Egypt, some of them. When Israel heard what the spies said, they didn’t look to God for help, but to themselves.
