It's time for House Republicans to "spare me the bullshit about constitutional rights," Democratic Rep. David Cicilline said Thursday during a discussion on gun restrictions in Congress.

After an outburst while debating legislation relating to "red flag" regulations, which would enable the government and law enforcement to seize weapons from anyone considered a risk, the Rhode Island congressman refused to give up any of his time.

Amendments to the bill that allow courts to issue "extreme risk protection orders," or "Red Flag" statutes, in the States "trample on an individual's due process and Second Amendment rights" were proposed by Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, a member of the House Judiciary Committee.

The protection of constitutional rights in the United States was labeled "bullshit" by Cicilline.

Cicilline said that persons who are antagonized are a threat to society "mass murderers and those who pose an immediate threat to themselves and others have a constitutional right to own a handgun. That would, quote, "trample on an individual's due process rights and second amendment rights" if they were denied this privilege.

"Do you have any idea who didn't get a fair hearing?" In the meanwhile, Cicilline kept going. "Did you hear about the person whose right to life was violated?" It's impossible to count the number of young people who have been killed in Parkland, Sandy Hook, Uvalde, and Buffalo."

"I will not yield and I will not yield for my full five minutes so please don't ask again," Cicilline told Gaetz as he tried to answer.
