Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, gave the State University System of Florida’s chancellor the order to deactivate the “Students for Justice in Palestine” organization.

A “toolkit” from the anti-Semitic group invited followers to support Hamas in its terrorist acts against Israel.

State university system Chancellor Ray Rodrigues stated in a letter dated Tuesday, “Based on the National SJP’s support of terrorism, in consultation with Governor DeSantis, the student chapters must be deactivated.” According to the state, the organizations are breaking a state statute that makes it illegal to “knowingly provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.”

The remarks made by the student organizations endorse the terrorist attack in Israel on October 7 by Hamas.

Rodrigues tweeted on Tuesday that “the National SJP has affirmatively identified it as part of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood-a terrorist-led attack.”

There are group chapters at at least two Florida institutions.

According to Rodrigues, “Hamas launched an unprovoked attack on Israel during a holy Jewish holiday; among those killed were babies, women, and the elderly.”
