Don’t Miss God’s Answers to Prayers Led by the Holy Spirit

David left Jerusalem and went barefoot to the top of the Mount of Olives, where he covered his head. The person who helped him, Ahithophel, had joined Absalom’s side. He prayed on the way up the mountain that Ahithophel’s advice would be shown to be wrong.

After climbing up, David saw Hushai. The dirt on his head and torn clothes on him showed how upset he was about what was going on. David had Hushai as one of his advisors as well. He was old and couldn’t move as quickly as David’s guys. David knew that his prayer had been heard. He told Hushai to go back to Jerusalem and fight against Ahithophel’s advice. He eagerly agreed to do the dangerous job because he wanted to serve the king.

Whenever we pray, God usually answers right away. We will miss it if we are not looking out for the answer and ready for it to come. Like David’s prayer, God’s answer to many of our prayers is not what we think it will be. So, we need to be alert and in tune with the Spirit, ready to find the answer. God answered David’s prayer right away, which changed the course of history and helped save his house and throne.

Think about it: Don’t miss God’s answers to prayers that the Holy Spirit leads you to pray.
