Whoever faced defeat would become the servants of the opposing nation.
David asked about the prize for confronting Goliath and declared with courage that it was essential to defeat this enemy. It was conveyed to King Saul that David was summoned to stand before him. David reassured the king, urging him not to be troubled. He offered himself to confront the giant. The king informed David that a young man stood no chance against a battle-hardened warrior like Goliath. Then David shared his stories of confronting a bear and a lion to safeguard his flock.
David was assured in his faith due to the triumphs he had experienced before. He believed that a GOD power would triumph in this struggle, for this giant was challenging the forces of the living spirit. Experience and belief assured David that this lion, which posed a threat to the flock, would be akin to the beast he had previously defeated while protecting his dad’s herd. You have experienced triumphs in your past to inspire belief in what is possible today. Combine the lessons learned from your past successes with trust in a greater cause and confront the challenges that life presents today.
