White House Won’t Release Numbers for Vaccinated Staff With COVID
Fully vaccinated staff at the White House are coming down with COVID-19 and, although press secretary Jen Psaki admitted that the cases were occurring, she “suggested the public did not need” to know how many were sick with it so far, and even asked reporters why they needed to know that information, USA Today reports.
In the meantime, Dr. Amesh Adalja, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, insists that the vaccines are “very robust” and that the pandemic is actually in the unvaccinated. Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell chimed in with Adalja and other officials, all of whom focused on the unvaccinated getting their shots “as rapidly as possible,” as opposed to discussing the growing number of cases in the vaccinated.
So far, several Democrats Texas legislators trying to avoid working on a voting rights bill by running to Washington have come down with breakthrough cases, as well as other legislators and Congressional staff, including one of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s staff.
