The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States have announced that they are investigating a COVID-19 epidemic aboard a Carnival Cruise ship after the firm reported instances on board in recent days.

According to a dashboard maintained by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Carnival Spirit has met the threshold for a CDC inquiry based on the number of COVID-19 cases. The Carnival Spirit set sail from Miami on April 17 and docked in Seattle the following week.
