A 17-year-old girl who regrets having both breasts removed as a result of so-called "gender-affirming care" testified before a California Assembly committee hearing on June 28, urging state lawmakers to reject proposed legislation that would make California a sanctuary state for transgender individuals.
Chloe Cole of the Central Valley told the public safety committee, "I was medically transitioned between the ages of 13 and 16 and endured permanent repercussions as a result of surgeries and hormone therapy."

The committee approved the contentious Senate Bill (SB) 107, which supporters claim will "offer shelter" for transgender youngsters, their parents, and anyone who advocate for and provide "gender-affirming health care" for minors.
The measure would prohibit law enforcement from arresting or extraditing parents accused of child abuse or other crimes in other states or countries because they let their children to receive certain medical procedures.

"The danger of suicide was provided to my parents as a motive to propel me along in my transition," she added.Cole said that at age 15, she informed her therapist that she desired breast removal. She attended a prestigious surgical course with a dozen females her age or younger.Cole said, "None of us intended to be males; we wanted to avoid the discomfort of being ladies."
She had surgery, and after a few sessions, her doctor prescribed puberty blockers and injectable testosterone, she claimed.Despite having a therapist and attending the best surgical class, I did not fully comprehend the repercussions of the medical choices I was making. She said, "I was incapable of comprehension, and it was repeatedly minimized." Despite the suicide threat, my parents were urged to continue my so-called "gender transition."
"No kid will ever be breastfed by me. Blood clots are seen in my pee. I am unable to totally empty my bladder. I am currently unsure about my ability to carry a kid to term. Even the physicians who prescribed me puberty blockers and testosterone are unaware."
She encouraged the committee to reject the trans sanctuary state bill and implement measures to prevent "traumatic" events similar to hers from occurring again.She said, "Children cannot consent."
Attorney Erin Friday opposed the measure, arguing that it is unlawful for California to disregard the laws of other states.She stated that SB 107 would not only give safety for parents escaping the legislation in other states, but would also make California a safe haven for all children seeking access to transgender medication and surgery.

The bill's sponsor, state senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco), said that it is meant to shield families, transgender adolescents, and medical professionals from prosecution for child abuse in other jurisdictions.

As it was the Middle Ages, I spent many years on the streets, in prisons, and in institutions." Transgender individuals were seen as psychologically ill, unable to function in society."
Harper said that the transgender population in California is alive and thriving now, but in the 1990s a large number of trans persons perished because they did not get the necessary health treatment."The 13-year-old me believed I would die before I became 21. "Yet, here I am in my forties, still advocating and enjoying the backing of senators like Scott Wiener, the lieutenant governor, and other government officials "Harper stated.

Transgenderism’s embrace by popular culture presents Christians with difficult choices. Among those is the issue of personal pronouns: words such as he, him, his, or she, her, and hers. In some situations, those who wish to identify as the opposite of their biological sex prefer to be spoken of using pronouns that correspond to their preference, not their biology. For example, a male who self-identifies as female might ask to be referred to as “she” or “her.”
Beyond this, some persons claim to be completely different genders or combinations of genders. Such persons might ask to be referred to using pronouns such as they or them, or even “new” words like xi, xim, or xer.
So, does that mean a Christian can or should use “preferred pronouns,” even just to be polite? Or should believers make a point of not using such terms at all, to avoid endorsing something untrue? As with any specific issues, the Bible does not give an explicit, word-for-word answer. There is no “thou shall” or “thou shalt not” for the use of modern preferred pronouns. What believers can do is look for guiding principles in order to make the best choice in a given situation.
In short, while Christians need to be careful and respectful, respect cannot extend to endorsing ideas that the Bible calls false. Whatever choice a Christian makes with respect to preferred pronouns, it’s important that they not give the appearance of endorsing sin or self-deception.
