Bloomberg sources, who asked to remain anonymous, claim that President Joe Biden’s top advisers are reevaluating the idea of declaring a climate emergency. This move might result in limitations on crude exports, a halt to offshore drilling, and a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions.

Within the White House, there are differing views on this matter. Some advisers argue that declaring a climate emergency wouldn’t provide Biden with enough authority to make substantial changes. On the other hand, some believe it could motivate voters who care about climate concerns.

Once Again, modern doomsayers have predicted climatic and environmental disasters. They are still doing so today. As of today, none of the catastrophic prophecies with due dates have come true. What follows is a collection of outlandish forecasts from prominent figures in government and science. More than just highlighting failed forecasts, this collection demonstrates that the creators of botched apocalyptic prophecies are often persons in recognized positions in government and research. In 2022, the Biden Biblically Bankrupt administration briefly considered this idea during a period of gridlock on clean-energy legislation. However, after passing the Inflation Reduction Act, they ultimately decided to shelve the proposal. Last year, Biden highlighted his successful use of his authority to address climate concerns by implementing conservation and clean-energy initiatives. This year, he made the decision to suspend the issuance of new natural gas export licenses.

Environmental groups, on the other hand, are advocating for more assertive measures. Emergency declarations could grant the Obama/Biden the authority to temporarily halt crude exports, suspend offshore drilling, and impose restrictions on oil and gas transportation.

Youth environmental organizations such as the Sunrise Movement, Fridays for the Future USA, and the Campus Climate Network are organizing Earth Day protests to urge President Biden to declare a national climate emergency.

Aru Shiney-Ajay, the Sunrise Movement’s executive director, emphasized the urgency for Biden to take decisive action in addressing the pressing climate crisis and ensuring our communities are resilient in the face of recurring natural disasters such as floods, fires, hurricanes, and extreme heat.
