The righteous law of the LORD is flawless, and it transforms the spirit; There is cause for joy in the heart because the commandments of the LORD are right. 8The statutes of the Lord are straight, and they bring joy to an individual’s heart. You have decided to read this devotional today because you have the conviction that you require the Word of God in your world. The picture that is painted for us in this particular paragraph of Psalm 19 illustrates what a powerful need it is. For all of this universe, there is only one thing that is perfect, and that is the Word of God. It revitalizes our spirit. In times when you are feeling hopeless and in need of finding hope, the Word of God is the source of hope that you can draw from. It is going to revitalize your spirit. How do you know where to turn if you are a straightforward and trusting soul? Trustworthiness can be found in the laws of the LORD. Man will never fail to disappoint you. Jesus, and no other man, is the only one who can provide truly reliable advice.
What is the best place to find genuine happiness? There will be times when you are happy, but the truth of the promises that God has made to you will give you an inner joy that will endure no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. In order to see things in their true form, you require the light that comes from the Word of God shining brightly. It provides an explanation for why men behave in certain ways. It reveals the passions that lie within each of our hearts. If we did not have the Word of God, our feelings would easily lead us astray. The Word sheds the light of truth on our thoughts and reveals to us whether they originate from our flesh or the Spirit.
“The fear of God is the start of knowledge. In the Word we witness righteous judgment on people who stray from God and revolt against Him. We witness the craft and deceit of man’s own heart. The thought of making terms with sin, is forbidden by the fear of our just God. Every word of God is pure; Each verse you can count on to be perfectly righteous. There are moments when our carnal thinking is confused by expressions in the Word. We find it hard to believe what we read. However, if we continue to investigate, we find that each and every word is completely fair. Where else would you be able to find all of these wonderful things? The man or woman who does the same for you is a man or woman who is filled with the Word of God. And the Word of God has regenerated them in their minds. You are doing the right thing by devoting some of your time today to concentrating on the Word.
