America has lost its soul

God’s Here…

The People of the World Look to the God of Science?

With four hundred and fifty prophets of Asherah and four hundred prophets of Baal, Elijah summoned Ahab to meet him on Mount Carmel. As the confrontation unfolded, the Israelites assembled to witness it. Could they still have faith in Baal to deliver rain after it had been three and a half years without? He was quite direct in his questioning, but they remained silent.

How much would it cost? Given that the weather is behaving more like a curse than a blessing today, what will it take? For what length of time will humanity continue to put their faith in science? Is there a limit to how much time we can spend debating? Instinctively, people know that if God exists, He deserves our devotion, but they still refuse to believe in Him. A complete and utter debt is due to Him if He is the one who created us.

By issuing a challenge to believe, God was drawing Israel back to Himself. As He had done previously when He had delivered them from Egypt, He had demonstrated the powerlessness of their false deities. What steps must be taken? Even though Israel’s false god was powerless to help them, they still wouldn’t believe in the God who had saved them time and time again. How many times must God perform miracles to prove God to us? In order to better understand politics, we shall study the past and apply its lessons. Why not draw wisdom from the numerous instances in which God has demonstrated His omnipotence throughout history?

Consider: If there are trials and circumstances in your life today, they may be the mercy of God asking you, “How long will you waver between two opinions?”

1 Kings 18:21 21Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing.
