Watchman: Daily Devotional,Selfishness and Self-Centeredness Are Prominent Characteristics of Ungodly People That Cannot Be Absent From Their Lives as a Result of Their Active Selfish Nature
Daily Devotional:
Humans are naturally selfish and self-centered, and 2 Timothy 3:1 says that in the last days people will be lovers of themselves; the self referred to in that verse is the sinful self that has no regard for others.
If you are ungodly, you will be motivated solely by what you can receive from others, as opposed to what you can offer.
But if you are saved by grace through faith in Jesus and inherit the new nature of Christ, your natural selfishness and self-centeredness vanish and are replaced by a selfless love that seeks to serve others rather than itself.
Prayer:
Father, I know that there is much about my journey through life that I do not understand, but Lord I trust You, for You have scheduled every day of my life and there are no dangers or disappointments, suffering or pain of which You are unaware, and which You will not use for Your greater glory and my eternal good. I pray that even though I do not understand the reason for so many of the difficulties that I have to endure, that You will provide me with the sufficient grace I need to persevere to the end. Lord, I believe that my times are in Your hands and I trust You to bring me through to a final and triumphant conclusion.
Strengthen and uphold me in the power of Your Spirit, and sustain and comfort me I pray, so that in all things I may patiently endure to the end to Your praise and glory. I humbly ask this in the name of Jesus,

The Watchman
In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand."
