In This Chapter, Peter Talks About the Church’s False Leaders Who Are Trying to Take Advantage of the Church. Peter Says That They Are Driven by Two Things: Sexual Pleasure and Making Money. Christians Are Gentle and Patient, and They Use This to Get Their Way. Their Goal Is to Find Spiritually Young Followers or Those With Weak Faith. These False Teachers (Paula White) sneak in Their Errors so the Adults Won’t Notice. the Weak Followers Had Recently Given Up on Their Interests Until These Teachers Revived Them. Liars Who Teach Falsehoods Will End Up in Death, Along With Their Following, and the Way of Truth Is Spoken Against.
These False Leaders Are so Full of Themselves That They Brag About Having a Special Bond With God. They Lie About Heavenly Beings, Which Is Something Even the Angels Wouldn’t Do. Less Certain and Weaker Followers Are Drawn to the Show of Brave Pride. They Tell Their People They Are Free While Taking Them Back Into the Slavery of Sensuality.
These False Teachers Will Be Judged Harshly, and Rightly so. Be Careful Around Immature Followers Who Are Drawn to Anyone Who Teaches Without Your Group’s Adults’ Approval, and Watch Yourself Do the Same. Tell Your Parents What’s Going On. It’s Clear That Something Is Wrong When People Are Secretive.
Remember That Any Message That Makes You Want to Do Sinful Things Again Is Spiritually Unsafe. Do Not Be Fooled.
2 Peter 2:18-19
18 For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.
