Update:
All these things are linked. These times are difficult. But we can handle it.”
In 2020, California Gov. Gavin Newsom blamed “climate change” for wildfires.
“I literally have no patience for climate change deniers,” he remarked.
Newsom again blames “climate change” for the Los Angeles fires four years later.
Be patient. Why was California so horribly unprepared if climate change is to blame?
Newsom should be asked why the state didn’t aggressively clear underbrush for four years to prevent a catastrophic catastrophe. Why didn’t it create huge, effective buffer zones to prevent fires from reaching people? Why was there no Marshall Plan-scale reservoir project to supply firefighters with hydrant water?
The state had enough warning. Environmentalists have warned for decades that “climate change” will increase wildfire frequency, intensity, and mortality.
Yet in the state where environmentalists wield all the power, they dallied and delayed, let bureaucratic red tape and environmental groups stall preparations for the worst, and prioritized ridiculous and massively expensive projects like the “bullet” train.
California wasted huge amounts of money.
Former Gov. Jerry Brown signed a $1 billion law to “prevent catastrophic wildfires and protect Californians” in 2018. That money went where?
Newsom’s wildfire “strike force” said in 2019 that “Over the next five years, the state will commit over $1 billion for critical fuel reduction projects, to support prescribed fire crews, forest thinning, and other forest health projects.”
Newsom proclaimed the California Vegetation Treatment Program to speed up environmental reviews for forest management projects early in his presidency.
But the Washington Examiner’s terrible waste and mismanagement account shows:
Climate groups that fight those initiatives in court have also hampered efforts like cutting thick tree clusters and planned burns to prevent fires from spreading quickly.
The program’s latest data showed that just 231 of 525 approved projects spanning 666,450 acres have been completed, spanning 6,000 acres. A Los Angeles County Fire Department fuel reduction project and a charity watershed project are the only 130-acre initiatives in the Los Angeles metro region. Both are incomplete.
Newsom isn’t blameless. He lied about wildfire prevention three years ago, according to a report.
CapRadio and NPR’s California Newsroom revealed the governor exaggerated his successes and cut wildfire prevention. The research discovered Newsom exaggerated the amount of acres treated with fuel breaks and controlled burns in forestry projects he said should prioritize to safeguard the state’s most vulnerable neighborhoods by 690%. Newsom claims his executive order prompted 35 ‘priority projects’ that prevented fires on 90,000 acres. Official state data show 11,399.
In his June budget, he decreased wildfire and forest resilience funding by $101 million and millions from other fire mitigation programs. Was Newsom’s 2019 statement that he’d “made wildfire prevention and mitigation a top priority since taking office” accurate?
Newsom’s indifference to building new water reservoirs is surprising in a state concerned that “climate change” will bring more droughts and wildfires.
Californians decisively supported a $7.5 billion water bond package in 2014, with approximately $3 billion for reservoirs. No new reservoirs have been created in almost a decade. Where did the money go?
We don’t believe the climate-change-is-to-blame crap.
Though allegations to the contrary persist, wildfires have not become more common or fatal, as we highlighted last week. (“Fire, Snow And A Storm Of Climate Nonsense.”)
Newsom and other communist Democrats that rule the state do. They practice religion.
They blame fossil fuels for every state disaster. They repeatedly call for immediate action.
However, they have done nothing to safeguard inhabitants from what they call an existential catastrophe.
Their own words condemn them of criminal carelessness.
Know both your physical and spiritual enemies. Know their motivations, their intentions and plans, their histories, their capabilities, their weaknesses, their strengths, their technologies, and their resolve. Then you will know what they have planned for you.

The Governor of California Declares an Emergency as a Wildfire Near Yosemite Compels Many to Flee
HNewsWire: On Saturday, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) proclaimed a state of emergency for Mariposa County, as a fast-moving brush fire near Yosemite National Park grew to become the state’s biggest this year, displacing thousands of people.

The fire, which began in Mid-pines on Friday, has expanded to at least 14,281 acres, burned 10 houses, and is now 0 percent controlled. According to CalFire, a further 2,000 buildings are under jeopardy.
Over 6,000 people were told to flee over a several-mile stretch of the sparsely inhabited rural region, as more than 400 firefighters battled the flames with helicopters, other aircraft, and bulldozers. They endure sweltering heat, little humidity, and parched foliage as the state suffers from the worst drought in decades.
“Explosive fire behavior is posing challenges for firefighters,” CalFire stated in a statement on Saturday, characterizing the Oak Fire’s activity as “severe with frequent runs, spot flames, and group torching.”
“The fire is spreading rapidly. Yesterday, this fire was sending embers out in front of itself for up to 2 miles “said Daniel Patterson, a Sierra National Forest official. “These are extraordinary fire conditions.”
The fire “marked an ominous start to the state’s peak wildfire season,” according to the Los Angeles Times, “with more dangerous blazes expected due to a combination of drought, climate change, and overgrown vegetation that has increased the likelihood of fires igniting quickly and spreading rapidly.”
It happened at a time when most of the world was experiencing unprecedented heat, with record-breaking temperatures igniting flames throughout Europe and triggering warnings in broad parts of the United States and China.
“The soldiers on the ground are dealing with a pretty difficult situation right now,” said Kim Zagaris, a former state fire and rescue chief for the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services who now serves as an adviser for the Western Fire Chiefs Assn.
“Mother Nature has a lot to throw at us,” she continued. “In today’s day and age, aviation resources and the wild-land community are pushed even thinner – not just for us, but for everyone.”

The “Dangerous” Heat Dome Is Shifting Eastward, With Triple-Digit Temperatures Expected in the Southeast
A heat dome over the northern Plains began to creep eastward early this week, bringing triple-digit temperatures to the southern and eastern United States.
“From the middle United States to the Southeast, dangerous heat will continue to make headlines.” From the middle Plains to the Upper Midwest, another day of considerably above-normal, near-record, and record-breaking temperatures is forecast.
“Extreme heat warnings for the Red River Valley of the North and the broader Minneapolis region remain in effect.” Heavy temperatures of up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, along with high humidity, will result in head indices in the mid-100s…
“The heat wave’s core moves eastward towards the Great Lakes on Tuesday, with expected highs in the mid- to upper-90s, up to 15-20 degrees over average.”
“In addition to sweltering highs, extremely warm, near-record, and record-breaking lows in the 70s will give no reprieve from the heat overnight.” Temperatures in the Southeast will also rise on Wednesday, with highs in the low 100s forecast. When excessive humidity is factored in, maximum heat indices along the central Gulf Coast may exceed 110 degrees. “High temperatures will be hot and slightly above average over much of the central and eastern United States, with the exception of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic,” the National Weather Service noted in an early morning weather forecast.
At 0800 ET, at least nine million people were under heat warnings in eight northern and central states, including Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Kansas. As the heat dome spreads eastward, that figure should grow exponentially.
Summer officially starts on Tuesday, and broad areas of the nation might have above-average maximum temperatures until the end of the month.
We don’t see triple digits too frequently in Jax. On Thursday, the temperature is expected to reach 101 degrees Fahrenheit. pic.twitter.com/E6fKRYV04u @GaughanSurfing @MikeFirstAlert @JimCantoreJune 20, 2022 – Mike Zaccardi, CFA, CMT (@MikeZaccardi)
Above-average temperatures will raise cooling demand from homes and businesses, putting pressure on power networks and resulting in increased energy rates for tens of millions of Americans, or, in the worst-case scenario, power outages.

HNewsWire: One person has died and at least three firemen have been wounded as a result of wind-driven flames in Nebraska, officials said Sunday.
Nebraska Emergency Management Agency spokesperson Jodie Fawl said the individual who died was located in Red Willow County, which is located in the southwest region of the state. Although she didn’t have any more information about this individual, she claimed that their injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.
The Nebraska National Guard sent three helicopters and a number of support vehicles to assist fight the fires.
Wildfires in northern New Mexico destroyed hundreds of houses and displaced thousands of people as blazes blazed unusually early in the year on dry US soil.
Officials in New Mexico say two flames fused north of Las Vegas and raced across 15 miles of forest at speeds of up to 75 mph (121 kph), burning more than 200 houses along the way.
Approximately 35 miles east of Taos, a fire that had doubled in size was had to be evacuated as it threatened several nearby settlements and was now the biggest fire in the United States.
As a result of a decades-long drought and plentiful dry vegetation, the flames are the most severe of roughly two dozen in the southwest of the United States.
It was only on Saturday that five New Mexico counties had been declared states of emergency after Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced one in Mora county. On Friday, she had issued emergency declarations for the counties of Colfax, Lincoln, San Miguel, and Valencia.
He told reporters that the state has 20 active fires after Friday’s “extraordinary” wind storm and that the fire season was “longer,” “more hazardous,” and “more dramatic” than ever before.
There were still hundreds of evacuation orders in force in New Mexico on Saturday despite a decrease in wind and temperature.
Lujan Grisham indicated that more than 200 buildings had been destroyed, but he didn’t provide information on the locations or the number of residences included in that total.. Residents were urged not to use pyrotechnics or garbage burners, and to leave the area if a fire alert was issued. “You have to go. There are too many dangers,” she said.
An area the size of Disney World was burned by the Calf Canyon and Hermits Peak fires in Las Vegas, a total of 42,341 acres (171 square kilometers).
The governor announced that evacuations had been increased to include half a dozen other settlements, including the hamlet of Mora.
Arizona’s Tunnel Fire is causing a haze to creep north of Flagstaff. In the year 2022, on April 19, Snowfall in the winter is decreasing due to climate change, allowing more severe fires to begin earlier in the year, according to researchers. After doubling in size to 48,672 acres east of Taos, the Cooks Peak fire threatened to burn down Cimarron and the Philmont Scout Ranch.
