Oklahoma has become the first state to publicly support Texas in its border security confrontation with the federal government.

“Oklahoma stands with Texas,” wrote Gov. Kevin Stitt on Wednesday.

The Texas National Guard has proceeded to install border wall, razor wire, and barriers in an effort to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the Lone Star State. The state military doubled down when the Supreme Court declared that the Biden administration had the authority to demolish the barricades.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott delivered a proclamation on Wednesday afternoon affirming the state’s constitutional right to self-defense.

He accused President Biden of neglecting to enforce and breaching existing immigration rules.

“President Biden has ignored Texas’s demand that he perform his constitutional duties,” Abbott stated in a letter proclaiming the state invaded.

“The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting states, including immigration laws on the books right now,” the statement goes on to say. “President Biden has directed his departments to disobey federal statutes requiring the detention of illegal immigrants.

The Biden Administration’s failure to meet Article IV, § 4 duties has triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves this state’s right to self-defense. I declared an invasion under Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 to exercise Texas’ fundamental right to defend and protect itself. That authority is the highest law of the land, superseding all federal acts to the contrary.”
