Third trans suspect in Border Patrol Agent Killing sought
Federal investigators are searching nationwide for a transgender person suspected of supplying the firearms used to kill a Vermont Border Patrol agent on January 20.
Michelle Zajko, 32 (b. 12/31/1992), is “armed and dangerous.” Police believe he is the perpetrator of his parents’ 2023 Pennsylvania murder and uses the names “Jacqueline Conner,” “Jamie Zajko,” and “MJ.”
Two days after 44-year-old Border Patrol agent David Maland was shot and murdered during a traffic stop in Coventry, Vermont, federal authorities warned police in various states to hunt for Zajko.
His roots are in Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Boston. According to court documents obtained by the Times Union, Zajko purchased two.40-caliber and.380-caliber semiautomatic handguns at a Mount Tabor gun shop in February 2024.
Alleged killer Teresa Youngblut, 21, of Seattle, Washington, shot Maland with one of the weapons. Felix Bauckholt, a German national who reached for his gun during the attack but was killed in the gunfight, had the other gun.
Journalist Andy Ngo, senior editor of The Post Millennial, reported that Youngblut and Bauckholt are linked to the “Ziz” trans terror cult responsible for multiple recent homicides. Both suspects are transgender.
Zajko is wanted by federal authorities for the January 2023 murder of his parents, Richard and Rita Zajko, in their Delaware County, Pennsylvania residence. Court records designate him as a “person of interest” in the Vallejo landlord murder.
Youngblut faces one count of employing a dangerous weapon and one of discharging a firearm in Maland’s death. US Magistrate Judge Kevin J. Doyle ordered her jailed without bail pending trial on Thursday, calling her a community threat.
“The evidence of the charged offenses at this time appears to be strong,” Doyle said in court.
Maland stopped Youngblut in Vermont on January 20. She exited the car and shot Maland, killing him. Other cops fired at Youngblut and Bauckholt. Youngblut was hospitalized, but Bauckholt died on the scene. Investigators are seeking to ascertain if Youngblut’s weapon discharged the round that hit Maland or if responding officers accidentally hit him.
Youngblut and Bauckholt were placed under surveillance three days before the shooting when a Vermont hotel employee saw them strolling around with firearms and black tactical gear, according to an FBI affidavit.
After the incident, the FBI found foil-wrapped cellphones, a ballistic helmet, night-vision goggles, ammo, respirators, shooting range targets, radios, and travel and hotel information in Youngblut’s vehicle.
