A Mask Mandate Is Enacted by the Hospital System
As a precaution against “widespread respiratory illnesses” in the region, an Illinois hospital system ordered the use of face masks by all visitors to its facilities this week.
According to a Facebook post from OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, “starting Tuesday, December 31, all employees, patients and visitors at our hospitals are required to wear masks due to the widespread respiratory illnesses in our communities, including COVID-19, influenza and RSV.” So went the announcement.
On top of that, we are temporarily limiting each patient to no more than two visitors (must be 18 or older) at any given time. Your help in maintaining the safety of our community is much appreciated.
This follows a statement from Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center, which stated that “patients and visitors must wear hospital-approved masks when they are in clinical offices, waiting areas and patient registration” beginning on December 2.
As the policy goes into effect, “the spread of flu, RSV, and COVID-19 rises,” as the authors put it.
It Seems Like a New Jersey Hospital Is Requiring Masks
In December, RWJ Barnabas Health, New Jersey’s biggest healthcare system, said that patients and visitors “are expected” to wear face masks while they are on campus. A statement issued in mid-December stated that the company’s outpatient and medical group facilities in the state are also “strongly encouraging” personnel and guests to wear masks.

“All providers, staff, patients, visitors and vendors are strongly encouraged to wear masks at all times when they are in the presence of patients” in medical group and outpatient buildings, says the statement. “All staff members and providers caring for them, as well as all patients who present with respiratory symptoms, are required to wear masks,” RWJ Barnabas noted.
This is a mandate from New York State.
Those in the medical field in New York who have not been vaccinated against the flu are required to wear masks in any facility where patients or residents are present as of the middle of December.

Healthcare workers in various Bay Area counties were mandated to wear masks beginning in November. On March 31st, this year, the mandate will come to a close.
San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara are among the counties that mandate masks for its personnel. According to a previous assessment in The Epoch Times, masks are required for both patients and visitors at certain healthcare facilities in Santa Clara County (which includes San Jose) and San Mateo County. At about the same time as the county rules, a Monterey hospital system also reinstated a requirement for employees, visitors, and patients.

What? It’s winter and the flu has made a comeback? SMH. I was a nurse for 37 years. We always had higher admissions in the winter for flu type illnesses because people are stuck indoors and congregate around other people.
Masks aren’t going to do anything except make you more susceptible because you’re breathing your own waste. Hand washing, covering your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze with your arm and staying home when you are sick will. Take a daily dose of zinc, vitamin c, vitamin d and quercetin to boost your immunity during these next few months and you’ll be fine. My husband and I have done that the past 4 years, we’re both 69. He has diabetes and HBP, neither of us took that vaccine and neither of us got Covid. Ever. And he’s a school bus driver part time.
Think of all the germs he’s exposed to on a daily basis from those little petri dishes he drives around.

Anyone refused admission to a hospital, be it patient, visitor, or vendor, should refuse to enter the premises and sue the hospital for forcing pseudoscience on them for the purpose of control and virtue signaling. Close them down for violation of our individual rights. If their mission is to serve the public (not control), they are failing badly.
