Greg Abbott Suing Biden Admin for Vaccine Mandate on Texas National Guard.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said on Tuesday that his administration will file a lawsuit to prevent the Pentagon from imposing a vaccination mandate on the Texas National Guard.

In a letter to Maj. Gen. Tracy Norris, Adjutant General of the Texas Military Department, Abbott wrote, “As the commander-in-chief of Texas’s militia, I have issued a straightforward order to every member of the Texas National Guard within my chain of command: Do not punish any guardsman for choosing not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine,”

According to Abbott’s letter, his “order has been in effect for months now, Biden has muddied the waters with a vaccine mandate from the U.S. Department of Defense,”

Abbott wrote to Norris, “Unless President Biden federalizes the Texas National Guard in accordance with Title 10 of the U.S. Code, he is not your commander-in-chief under our federal or state Constitutions,” 

Abbott’s news of a lawsuit came just days after Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt lost a similar case in an attempt to stop the Department of Defense’s mandate for National Guard members, and just weeks after Abbott wrote to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stating that the vaccine requirement for Texas Guard members would not be imposed.

Following a judge’s rejection of Stitt’s motion, the Oklahoma National Guard’s head announced on Dec. 30 that unvaccinated airmen will not be permitted to practice.

“The Department of Defense has indicated it will recoup any pay provided to unvaccinated airmen who drill after Jan. 1, 2022,” said US Army Brig. Gen. Thomas Mancino, adding that the Pentagon “can enforce this threat outside of the State of Oklahoma’s control.” Mancino has already stated that he supports Stitt’s decision not to enforce the mandate.

Army National Guard members have until June 2022 to be inoculated.

The Pentagon began requiring COVID-19 vaccines for service personnel in August. It is the responsibility of each service branch to administer them.

However, after a group of three-dozen Navy Special Warfare servicemembers, including Navy SEALs, sued the Biden administration for refusing them vaccine-related religious exemptions, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction to them earlier this week.

“The Navy service members in this case seek to vindicate the very freedoms they have sacrificed so much to protect,” Wrote judge Reed O’Connor, in his order (pdf) on Monday. “The COVID-19 pandemic provides the government no license to abrogate those freedoms. There is no COVID-19 exception to the First Amendment. There is no military exclusion from our Constitution.”

It’s no surprise that we’re seeing this kind of fundamental pushback from Texas public officials. Texans will get up and govern themselves if these elected officials don’t give the public what they want. People would rather scroll on their phones than to watch how the world is operating during such uncertain times. On Monday, tens of thousands of people came to the streets of Germany to protest the COVID-19 restrictions, which are slated to take effect today.

According to local sources, over 15,000 people marched to the streets across multiple cities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, northern Germany, to oppose stricter restrictions.

According to Tagesschau, which quoted police estimates, roughly 3,000 people demonstrated in Cottbus. Around 9,000 people came to the streets in 16 different sites around Brandenburg in the east. According to local sources, hundreds more protested in Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, and numerous locations in Lower Saxony.

Approximately 6,500 people marched in Rostock, a city on the Warnow River on the country’s north shore, while around 2,700 people demonstrated in Schwerin, and around 2,400 people demonstrated in Neubrandenburg.

On Twitter, police in Saxony, East Germany, claimed officers were monitoring sites in Görlitz, Bautzen, Hoyerwerda, Kamenz, and Zittau.

“In Bautzen, Görlitz, Zittau, Weißwasser and Hoyerswerda, there are currently larger gatherings of people,” police stated on Monday. “Our emergency services will notify them of the existing Covid emergency restrictions and request that they leave the area,” authorities stated.

Police subsequently claimed they were assaulted during the Bautzen demonstrations.

“The emergency services were massively attacked with fireworks and bottles,” police stated later that night.

At least 10 police officers were allegedly hurt during rallies in Saxony, according to DW.

According to DW, police were also dispatched to disperse crowds in the Saxon towns of Dresden and Leipzig.

On Monday, a number of demonstrators in Schweinfurt, Bavaria, were given suspended jail sentences, while another was fined by the municipal court.

Protests have erupted across Germany in recent weeks as citizens face increased restrictions as a result of the fifth COVID-19 wave, that’s being led by the Omicron variant.

Residents are now forced to show proof of vaccination to enter non-essential stores after the government implemented a series of measures aimed at people who have not yet received vaccinations in an effort to raise vaccination rates.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz revealed the new measures in place last week, which include contact limits for even those who have been vaccinated.

According to Scholz, the administration opted to adopt additional nationwide limits after Christmas since family-oriented holidays like Christmas and Easter “have not proven to be major drivers of the pandemic”.

Starting today, Germans who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, will be limited to meeting in groups of two, while those who have recently been vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 will be able to meet in groups of ten.

Nightclubs will be prohibited ahead of the New Year, as well as gyms, swimming pools, and theatres (both indoor and outdoor) are limited as of today.

As of today, many restaurants and cafés will close early, and huge events such as concerts and sporting events will be staged without an audience.

“This is no longer the time for parties and social evenings in big groups,” Scholz added.

Scholz and Germany’s 16 state governors will meet again on January 7 to debate whether the restrictions should be maintained or tightened.

According to government statistics, around 70% of the German population has been completely vaccinated.

Time will tell whether or not the citizens of Germany will buckle under the pressure applied by the tyrannical globalist sell outs. The restrictions imposed on unvaccinated citizens are dehumanizing yet not far from the restrictions imposed on fully vaccinated citizens.
