Matthew 7:24-26 24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.

This defining analogy was used by Jesus to finish the Sermon on the Mount. You will be like a wise man who built his house on a rock if you hear His sayings with your heart as well as your ears and then act in accordance with what you have heard. You may observe how the Sermon on the Mount rectified the typical male thought processes if you read the prior evening devotions. It directed attention away from human presumptions and toward reality. It changes your point of view from earth to heaven, which alters how you think and act on earth.

The house you are building in this example represents your life. Either the unshakeable truth of the reality of kingdom thinking or the shaky sand of the temporal and hazy perceptions of the world serve as the foundation of your life. Jesus is letting them know that He is not only showing off His intelligence for their amusement. He is offering them the truth on which to base their lives. What is the foundation of your life? What forms the basis of it?

There will be storms. Every life has its share of storms. Even the most protected life eventually meets its end. Storms characterize the majority of lives. Storms actually serve as a blessing in disguise since they force us to evaluate the foundation we've built on. We are aware that our house was constructed on sand in the event that it collapses.

We are aware that our house was constructed on sand in the event that it collapses. If somehow it astonishingly stands through it all, we recognize that we have built it upon the rock, the timeless principles of the kingdom. How did the most recent storm go for you? Are you standing firmly on the words of Jesus, the unmovable rock? The psalmist declared: "The Lord is always put before me. I won't be moved because Jesus is at my right hand." Psalm 16:8

Give Thanks For: Do you rely on Jesus' words as your guide? What will you do if that doesn't happen?

The Great Tribulation

It is our belief that the Great Tribulation referred to in the New Testament Book of Revelation (chapters 6-11) is unfolding before our eyes. In the near future, we will devote the "Tribulation" tab on our "Trending" menu to this emerging reality. As people continue to unplug from mainstream media, our commitment is to present the truth and encourage our audience to understand current events from a Biblical perspective. The Watchman

In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand."
