John 1:9,11-12 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

Declarations of Jesus' identity can be found throughout the Gospel of John. Jesus is the light of the world, according to one of these declarations. The darkness represents ignorance and uncertainty. Light is clarity, revealing things for what they truly are. Verse 9 states unequivocally that everyone who enters the world is given light. Nobody dies without receiving a revelation of the light. John then goes on to describe the various reactions to the light that shines on everyone.

The first is from the Jewish people (his own people). They did not accept Jesus as the light. They were shown light, knew it was light, but chose to remain in darkness. That is not true of all Jews, as we will see later in John, but of the vast majority. Many of the leaders came to believe but refused to admit it because they wanted to keep their positions in that society. Making the claim that Jesus is the light can jeopardize your social standing.

The second response that John mentions is that of all those who did receive Him, that is, those who believed in His name. JHWH's salvation is symbolized by Jesus' name. They were convinced he was God's salvation. Believing in the name entails accepting the authority it represents. Instead of clinging to the authority of the world, they chose to submit to the authority of His name. Those who do so are granted the right to become God's children. Have you decided that His authority is superior to all other authorities in the world? Have you come to believe that He is God's salvation? Then you have the right to become a God's child.

Give thanks because you are in the process of being transformed into someone who resembles your Father.

The Great Tribulation

It is our belief that the Great Tribulation referred to in the New Testament Book of Revelation (chapters 6-11) is unfolding before our eyes. In the near future, we will devote the "Tribulation" tab on our "Trending" menu to this emerging reality. As people continue to unplug from mainstream media, our commitment is to present the truth and encourage our audience to understand current events from a Biblical perspective. The Watchman

In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand."
