Jesus used a child to teach His disciples that childlike faith is necessary for entrance into the kingdom of heaven. At the same time, He said that the Father has concern for all of His “little ones” (Matthew 18:1–14). In that passage, Jesus says, “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6, KJV). The word offend in the Greek means “to cause one to stumble, to put a stumbling block or impediment in the way, upon which another may trip and fall, to entice to sin, or to cause a person to begin to distrust and desert one whom he ought to trust and obey.”

Government officials in Britain threatened to remove a teenage boy with autism from his parents after they objected to his desire to live life as a girl and take puberty-blocking drugs.

The school even reported the parents for being “emotionally abusive” because of their stance, according to The Daily Mail newspaper.

Doctors at a government-run National Health Service clinic had recommended the boy be given drugs that delay puberty because of his desire to be a girl. His parents objected, fearing the side effects.

When the boy told school officials that his parents weren’t allowing him to take puberty-blocking drugs, a teacher told them he could be placed in foster care if they didn’t change their mind, the newspaper reported.

The school reported the parents to child services, which placed the boy with a family friend. The parents agreed with the arrangement so as to avoid foster care. The school labeled the parents “emotionally abusive.”

Since then, the boy has moved back in with the parents.

“I’m absolutely devastated,” the mother, who wants to remain anonymous, told The Daily Mail. “When I saw the report that social services wrote about us and saw the words ‘emotional abuse,’ I just broke down.

“All we were doing was trying to get him to pause and think about his actions. My biggest worry as a mum is my child gets pushed down this route, becomes a woman, goes through the surgery, then gets to 25 and says, ‘I’ve made a mistake.’”

The unidentified parents are “middle-class professionals,” according to the newspaper.

Their nightmare began when the boy told a child psychologist he wanted to be a girl. He had never made such a pronouncement at home.

“The school and social workers took what our child said as gospel,” the mom said. “But considering he has autism, his perception of social scenarios is seen through an autism lens.”

At least three children were taken by social services in Britain last year because parents objected to their transgender desires, the newspaper said.

The mom concluded: “I cannot bear the thought of other families going through what we’ve been through. It has been horrendous.”

Some would argue that the Bible says nothing about the explosion of the transgender phenomenon in the Western world. After all, there is no verse that says, “Thou shalt not transition from a man to a woman.” But neither are there any verses that talk explicitly about gun violence, anorexia, waterboarding, fossil fuels, vaccines, GMOs, HMOs, or Pokemon Go. We should not expect the Bible to speak in 21st century terms to every 21st-century eventuality.

But that hardly means the Bible provides no guidance for Christians trying to make sense of our transgender moment. In fact, when it comes to transgenderism, the Bible actually has a lot to say—not by a prooftext here or there but by a rich and pervasive understanding of gender and sexual identity.

Obviously, transgenderism, as a cultural trend, is massively complex, touching on fields as disparate as genetics, fashion, medicine, law, education, entertainment, athletics, and religious liberty. We need Christians thinking through, and talking to, all of these issues. We also need Christians patiently loving, counseling, and befriending those who feel that their psychological identity as male or female contradicts their “assigned” biological sex. In asking the question, “What does the Bible say about transgenderism?” we are asking a question that can take us in a dozen different directions.

I want to focus on just one of those directions. If we are people of the Book—people who believe, like Jesus, that the Scripture cannot be broken (John 10:35)—then the transgender question, if it is to yield fruitful responses in any of these areas, must start with a biblical understanding of male and female.

And what is that understanding?

In short, the Bible teaches that God made us male or female, and no matter our own feelings or confusion, we should act in accordance with the biological reality of God’s good design. Transgenderism falls short of the glory of God and is not the way to walk in obedience to Christ.

John Wesley who said that what we tolerate in our generation, will be embraced by the next. Wesley is 100% correct! We are living in sick times.

Justice is a word that stands alone, adding anything to it demeans it….

It is impossible to find anyone in the Bible who was a power for God who did not have enemies and was not hated.

Children are being misplaced or lost in our foster care system, we must demand more openness and accountability from each state.

“It is better to be divided by truth than to be united in error. It is better to speak the truth that hurts and then heals, than falsehood that comforts and then kills. Let me tell you something, friend, it is not love and it is not friendship if we fail to declare the whole counsel of God. It is better to be hated for telling the truth, than to be loved for telling a lie. It is impossible to find anyone in the Bible who was a power for God who did not have enemies and was not hated. It’s better to stand alone with the truth, then to be wrong with a multitude. It is better to ultimately succeed with the truth than to temporarily succeed with a lie. There is only one Gospel and Paul said, ‘If any man preaches any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
