Isn’t it funny, no I’m not talking about an old hit song by Elton John. I’m asking isn’t it funny that so many while criticizing Trump and his administration about his policies suddenly find that his policies really are working? From rounding up the illegal immigrant bad guys. To his tariff approach to foreign policy. Even though many times his administration has to fight it out in court, his policies begin to make headway for our country.
I listened to a video channel that consistently disparages Trump’s domestic and foreign policies. Saying that he is causing more problems than solutions by what he is doing.
But, the message that was brought in a recent broadcast showed a sudden turn and seeming epiphany that his trade policies are actually working. Because of a seemingly miraculous deal Trump has made with Xi of China.
But, if you believe what the scriptures plainly say Rev.17,18 shows that there is a concerted effort to be made by 10 horns/kings to destroy the harlot and her mystery Babylon system of finance and sorcery that she has been using to rule the world.
So to those who believe Bible prophecy it comes as no surprise when these superpower countries come together to agree on trade and sovereign rule of their own countries and policies. “America first” Trump declares as he puts our country’s needs ahead of other countries. While allowing and declaring at the same time that other countries should be looking out for their own people’s interests.
By doing this we are witnessing the creation of a multi-polar world. One that has at least some similarities with the one described in Rev.17. One that will have 10 kings leading their own regions. Who have given their power to the beast system created by “the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.”
Isn’t it funny that these things have been foretold in the Bible so that anyone who wanted to know could read about them ahead of time? And could know what was coming before it got here? And yet so many refuse to believe in the prophecies as they continue to be surprised by events as they unfold?
And isn’t it funny that the God who gave them to us continues to be rejected by those who are surprised when Trump’s policies work the way the prophesies foretold that these people refuse to believe? And if they would believe they could not only know of these future events before they happen. But, they could also know their own future. And where they will spend eternity.
Isn’t it funny that so many people think that if they trust in Jesus all the fun they are having will be over? And that life will no longer be as exciting or fulfilling as they have it now without Him.
But, we who have believed know how wrong these people are about life with Jesus. Having accepted the lies of Satan whose only motivation is to steal, kill, and destroy.
And if they would only trust in Jesus and His resurrection they could have the abundant life now and in eternity that Jesus provides for all those who love and trust in Him.
As well as the excitement of watching world events take place we who believe the prophecies knew before hand were coming. An excitement because as these events unfold we know where we are in God’s timetable and that His return is near. When He comes for His people to take us to be with Him in heaven and “ever we will be with the Lord.”
We who have believed already have an abundant life filled with love, joy, and peace in the Holy Spirit. A life of no regrets or guilt that Satan uses to make us reject Jesus.
A life that is full of wonder and awe as we grow in our relationship with Jesus. Even when as James said we are to “2 …count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
A life that Paul said in Rom.5:3-5 3…we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
tribulation that brings patience.” A life that is one that even in the storms life sometimes brings has constant access to the peace of God that passes understanding.
Because then we can see why we are here. And what we need to do each day until we go to be with Him in heaven. Motivated by the love of God that drew us to Him when we first believed.
Isn’t it funny that the world with all of its shiny objects and glimmering deceptions and distractions more often than not becomes that “sod pottage” Esau desired? Choosing to satisfy the flesh rather than holding on to the promise of God that Jacob chose. Which is why God said “Jacob have I loved but Esau I hated.” And is what Paul was referring to when he reminded them in Rom.9:13 that God said in Mal.1 “2…yet I loved Jacob,
3 And I hated Esau…”
Because in the moment Esau “dispised his birthright” he showed where his loyalties were. Where his heart was. He showed what was really most important to him. And so too did Jacob by putting the promise of God above physical needs.
This is what every believer has already done. And why every believer has already been judged and declared righteous by God. A righteousness that is the same as Jesus’ was when He said praying to the Father, “Nevertheless, not my will but thine be done.” A righteousness Paul speaks of in Gal.2:16 saying it comes “by the faith of Christ”.
So righteousness is not the “many wonderful works in your name” those in Mt.7:22,23 said should save them. That only served to keep them from knowing Jesus’ deliverance. And it is not the perfect works of Christ credited to our account that makes us righteous.
No, never, God forbid we ever believe that. Because believing that is to believe that righteousness comes by works.
Our righteousness is the faith we express toward Jesus. And is the same faith Jesus expressed toward the Father while He lived as a man here on earth. And this is what it means when we say “Jesus is the object of our faith.” Because it is our trust in Him and His resurrection that is righteousness.
And as we circle back around to how we can know what is coming before it happens, we realize now that it really isn’t so funny that these people are so surprised by them when they happen. Because it not only shows a lack of faith in the prophecies in the Bible. It also shows a lack of faith in Jesus who gave us those prophecies.
But on the other hand, if we will trust in Jesus as He trusted the Father we will not only believe and be able to come to understand the prophecies. And be able to know events before they happen when we interpret the prophecies correctly. We will also have a loving and personal relationship with Jesus that is the righteousness that assures us that when we meet Him at the judgment we will hear these amazing words, “Well done thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of thy Lord.”
We will hear Jesus welcoming us into our eternal home in heaven where there is only love, joy, and peace in the Holy Spirit. A home that will be yours too when you trust in Jesus and His resurrection.
If you will do this then a spirit will be created in you that makes you God’s child and heir to His kingdom as in John 3:1-8 Jesus declared to Nicodemus. If you will do this then you will have eternal life now and immortality at the resurrection. If you will do this… then I will see you there or in the air!
