On Tuesday, Corie Walsh hanged her 2-year-old son Barrett from a basement rafter and tried to kill herself with a knife, according to prosecutors. She told officers the youngster was the “devil” and “anti-Christ.”
She was “very invested” in the Lindsay Clancy trial and emailing friends about it hours before her kid was found, witnesses said.

Frankfort police responded to the 22700 block of Brook Stone Court about 4pm Tuesday. Barrett Walsh, 2, was being clocked out by a neighbor on the floor. The neighbor told investigators she found the youngster hanging from a basement rafter with a ligature around his neck, feet off the ground. An autopsy revealed neck ligature compression asphyxia.
The neighbor upstairs found Corie Walsh in a bathtub with a knife. Walsh is described as completely clad, surrounded by crimson water, and with wrist and thigh wounds.
Walsh later told police she “did this to her baby because he was the ‘devil’ and ‘anti-Christ.'” In the hospital, she described killing him. Prosecutors said those comments matched house contents.

Investigators stated she dubbed the child “devil” and “anti-Christ.”
Another unhurt baby was found at home. Around the body’s discovery, two schoolchildren returned. Walsh’s husband flew home that nite from business out of state.
Prosecutors say Walsh is “a specific, real and present threat to her husband and her living three children.”
She allegedly threatened her husband and remaining children.
Walsh was booked into the Will County jail for medical care after being charged with three first-degree murder counts on separate intent allegations. Tuesday, September 8 is her first court date.
Andrea Lyon, her lawyer, said the Clancy fandom has been practicing for weeks:
“The Walsh family is devastated by the loss of their kid. The fact that Corey was schizophrenic at the time is equally tragic.”
The prosecutor added the information that made a suburban homicide national news. Witnesses said Walsh “had recently become very invested in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial.” She was “actively discussing the case via group text message with her friends” until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, three and a half hours before Barrett was located. The Clancy jury was deliberating in Plymouth when the texts went out.
It is important to question the media coverage of support for Clancy and its consequences.

This case has sold that moral inversion for weeks. Children are the background. Mother is victimized. The system is evil. Man who won’t cooperate is the issue.
If the women in pink could see “those dead kids with their vacant eyes staring up because their mother took their life, the last thing that they saw was their mother standing over them, choking them to death,” Joe Rogan said, “I don’t think they would feel so bad.”
If a DAD did this, he wouldn’t have a fan club, and if Clancy walks, “her supporters should have to let her babysit.”
The pink shirts call Bill Maher’s inquiry “What I don’t get is why does she have fans?” blasphemy. He likened the judicial audience to the women who made Luigi Mangione famous. Building a following around a mother who killed three children is another. “Not many women kill their children,” he said, “but a lot of them are not afraid to say, ‘I don’t like being a mom.'”

According to Rep. Brandon Gill, mental illness is not a license, and “She’s anything but brave.” “I feel deeply for the three murdered children. Not for Clancy.”
“You don’t get a license to murder your children or anybody else because you have health problems,” He said. “We’ve gotten into the habit of medicalizing evil.” Gill replied, “It’s a lack of recognition that evil exists.” to Will Cain’s question on medicalizing crime.

Massachusetts prosecutors never contested Clancy’s terrible illness. They say she knew what she was doing: she cleared her husband out of the home on an errand, killed three people with a successful method, then picked a failed way for herself. No jury decided sentence. One individual disagreed that her mental illness removed the offense.
The first apparent Demonic copycat in Illinois left before the verdict. Her attorney is searching for psychotic episode. According to the state’s complaint, she may still hurt her remaining three children and her out-of-town husband.
Jury service is not support. It’s the last brake in a culture that’s taught women their distress is the main character and others’ bodies are backdrop for a generation.
According to the defense, eleven jurors were willing to view three strangled children as a mother-child tragedy. One juror refused.
A Frankfort mother discussing a murder trial until lunchtime and a neighbor cutting a toddler down from a rafter the same evening is not a metaphor for contagion.
