My Decision to Warn the People: The Calling of a Watchman
In these turbulent times, choosing to speak out is not simply a personal decision—it is a calling. I have committed myself as a watchman, and with that comes the responsibility and burden of never compromising the truth, regardless of the consequences. It is not always easy, and the road is rarely safe, but my faith in Christ compels me to continue.
Why I Chose to Be a Watchman
- A Divine Mandate: Scripture teaches that a watchman must sound the alarm when danger is near (Ezekiel 33:6). To remain silent in the face of evil or deception would betray both my conscience and my calling.
- Unwavering Conviction: The world is full of comfortable lies and seductive half-truths. I am called by God not to please men, but to serve Him and stand for what is right, no matter how unpopular.
- A Desire to Protect: My heart’s longing is the safety, well-being, and spiritual freedom of the people. Silence in the face of approaching danger would be the greatest act of betrayal.
The Cost of Truth-telling
- Threats and Intimidation: I have faced threats and attempts at intimidation by those who want the truth hidden. There have been moments of fear and loneliness, but these have never been greater than my calling to speak.
- Misunderstanding and Isolation: Not everyone welcomes a warning. Friends have turned away, and even some who share my faith have questioned my motives or methods.
- Spiritual Warfare: The role of the watchman brings spiritual opposition. Yet, I know this is a sign that the enemy fears the power of light and truth.
Walking By Faith—Not Fear
I do not walk this path in my own strength. Christ has given me the faith I need for each day, every challenge, and every confrontation. I take courage from His words: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
- Faith is the Foundation: My confidence is not in my own courage, but in God’s promise to be with those who are faithful to His calling.
- Compassion is My Guide: I warn not from anger or pride, but from love—hoping to turn even one from danger toward truth and life.
Never Compromising the Truth
There can be no compromise when it comes to truth. I am committed, as long as God gives me breath, to warn, to shine light in darkness, and to point others to the eternal hope found in Christ.
Conclusion
Being a watchman is both a privilege and a burden. The threats are real, but the purpose is greater. I will not compromise; I will not remain silent. My path is set by Christ, and my faith gives me strength to continue—whatever the cost. May those who have ears hear, and may the truth set us all free.
There is a famous song, “In Christ Alone,” but few Christians actually believe it, and even fewer resolve to live it.
