Update: 12/26/22 White Horse In Play: Global Censorship — Court Rules EU Government Can Remove Content. The Court of Justice of the European Union Has Ruled That EU Governments Can Order Facebook to Take Down Content Worldwide, Twitter Has an Up-Hill Battle
This Is the Same EU That Has Labeled Part of the Bible as Hate Speech.
HNewsWire: A tweet from Elon Musk on Tuesday: "I simply mean that which is legal."
The European Union has warned Elon Musk that he could be fined or even banned from Twitter if he lets people speak freely there.
In the Financial Times, EU commissioner Thierry Breton said that Musk must follow rules about censoring illegal and harmful content on the internet because words have become "sticks and stones" when it comes to the risks of modern life.
"Everyone is welcome. As long as we agree, we're open, but only on our terms. "Elon, there are rules." Welcome, but these are our rules. It's not your rules that will be used here "Breton said that, and I agree.
Musk's deal to take Twitter private could make him a social media tycoon because millions of people use the San Francisco-based platform to get their news. Musk has used Twitter to attack regulators and critics.
In a speech on Monday, he said that "free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy." He also said that Twitter is "the digital town square where important issues for the future of humanity are debated." -FT
Just a few days ago, Brussels signed a major piece of legislation that criticizes big tech companies for not doing enough to police content online. This is at odds with what CEO Elon Musk says he wants to do with Twitter's content moderation policies, which could allow former President Trump to come back to the platform (despite Trump's insistence that he won't be back).
According to Breton, he's just giving Musk a "reality check" on his plans for less strict moderation, because if he doesn't, he could be banned from Europe.
Anyone who wants to use this market must follow our rules. Breton: "If Twitter doesn't do what we want, we can take away 6 percent of their revenue and ban them from Europe if they don't." He said that if Twitter doesn't do what our law says, "there are sanctions: 6 percent of their revenue and, if they keep it up for a long time, they'll be banned from Europe." (CNN)
EU Puts Musk On Notice Over Free Speech Plans For Twitter
HNewsWire: Elon Musk has been warned by the European Union that he might face heavy penalties or possibly a suspension from Twitter if he continues to allow free speech on the platform.
When it comes to the perils of contemporary life, words have been raised to the status of "sticks and stones," according to EU commissioner Thierry Breton, who spoke to the Financial Times.
"Everyone is welcome here. On our terms, we're open to the public. 'Elon, there are rules.' At least we know what to tell him. Welcome, but please abide by these ground rules. It's not up to you to set the rules here, albeit ""Breton" is the language spoken here.
With millions of people relying on the San Francisco-based platform for news, the take-private offer for Twitter by Tesla CEO Elon Musk may convert him into a social media mogul.
Mr. Zuckerberg called Twitter "the digital town square where things crucial to the future of mankind are argued" on Monday. -FT
Breton's remarks come just days after Brussels signed a major piece of legislation targeting big tech for not doing enough to police content online, which runs counter to Musk's plan to loosen Twitter's content moderation policies to match his stated "free speech absolutist" ideology, which could even see the return of former President Donal Trump to the platform (despite Trump's insistence he won't be back)...
"Reality check" is what Breton is trying to do with Musk's ideas for less severe moderation, since a lack of compliance in Europe might lead to a ban.
"Anyone hoping to get a foothold in this sector must adhere to our guidelines. Breton said that if Twitter does not comply with European law, "there are sanctions—6 per cent of the revenue and if they continue operating in Europe. If they don't comply with our law, there are sanctions—6 per cent of the revenue, and if they continue operating in Europe."

“This judgment has major implications for online freedom of expression around the world,” warned Thomas Hughes, executive director of the ARTICLE 19 charitable organization, which “works for a world where all people everywhere can freely express themselves and actively engage in public life without fear of discrimination.”
“Compelling social media platforms like Facebook to automatically remove posts regardless of their context will infringe our right to free speech and restrict the information we see online,” Hughes complained.
“The judgment does not take into account the limitations of technology when it comes to automated filters.
“The ruling also means that a court in one EU member-state will be able to order the removal of social media posts in other countries, even if they are not considered unlawful there. This would set a dangerous precedent where the courts of one country can control what internet users in another country can see. This could be open to abuse, particularly by regimes with weak human rights records.”

Satan Soldiers At World Economic Forum Makes Censorship Pledge To ‘Tackle Harmful Content And
Conduct Online’ Big Tech-Government Coalition to Control What People See Online…. Evil men plot against the godly and viciously attack them. The Lord laughs in disgust at them, for he knows that their day is coming. Evil men draw their swords and prepare their bows, to bring down the oppressed and needy, and to slaughter those who are godly. Their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken. The little bit that a godly man owns is better than the wealth of many evil men. For evil men will lose their power, but the LORD sustains the godly. The LORD watches over the innocent day by day and they possess a permanent inheritance. They will not be ashamed when hard times come. When famine comes, they will have enough to eat. But evil men will die;…
Global Censorship: Court Rules EU Government Can Remove Content
The Ride Will Get Nasty From Here, NWO… The Court of Justice of the European Union has ruled that EU governments can order Facebook to take down content worldwide after an Austrian politician was insulted online. Eva Glawischnig-Piesczek, a leading figure in Austria’s left-progressive Greens Party, was branded a “lousy traitor of the people” and a “corrupt oaf”, among other things, in an Austrian news article concerning her party’s support for a minimum income for refugees which was shared on a Facebook user’s personal page, according to court documents. The Green politician demanded Facebook Ireland, which manages Facebook in Europe, remove the post, and secured an Austrian court order commanding it when the U.S. subsidiary failed to comply — but was not satisfied when the social media giant only restricted the content in Austria. Now the Court of Justice of the…
