By SRH, Defense attorneys for columnist Stephen Baker challenge the US Department of Justice to try any case against him outside of the District of Columbia.
Lawyers representing a journalist who may face prosecution for being at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, are requesting that federal prosecutors explore the possibility of holding his trial outside the District of Columbia. They argue that the prosecutors’ intentions could be driven by a desire for revenge, potentially due to the journalist’s recent coverage of possible perjury by Capitol Police and the events surrounding the pipe bombs on January 6.
Six attorneys who asserted they willingly provided their services to represent Stephen Baker of Raleigh, N.C., released a statement on Jan. 22, expressing their belief that the DOJ is pursuing more severe charges related to the events of Jan. 6 as a form of retribution.
Mr. Baker, a former independent journalist, has now shifted his focus to writing for Blaze Media.
Based on a statement, it has been brought to our attention that the reporting by Steve has caused significant concern among officials in multiple federal agencies. Consequently, there is currently a continuous endeavor to uncover reasons for accusing Steve of more serious crimes. These supposed crimes would then be used as a justification for carrying out early morning raids to execute search and arrest warrants on him and his family.
If the allegations are indeed true and if the authorities decide to execute search and arrest warrants to apprehend Steve from his residence in the early hours of the morning in the coming days, it would strongly suggest a retaliatory action against a journalist who is merely exercising his constitutional rights to report on potentially unfavorable information about government officials.
Five well-known defense attorneys from January 6 have collectively issued a statement. The attorneys listed are James Lee Bright, Brad Geyer, Phillip Linder, William Shipley, and Edward Tarpley Jr. It was also signed by Mr. Baker’s Raleigh-based attorney, Matthew Ceradini.
No federal trial should, in my opinion, take place in D.C. because it is not a part of the union. The DOJ is really dirty. Not only the CIA and FBI have been taken over by the Democrats, who are now openly anti-American, but almost every department of the government.
It is obvious that this is tyranny directed against the people of America, real investigative journalists, and those who have the courage to look for and report the truth. They are aware of their extensive corruption, thus they will never relinquish power! Anything that changes in our country now will require an act of God. Honest elections and voting are a farce!
